    Re-watched Interstellar

Hi y'all, bit of a cinephile. Gave Christopher Nolan's 2014 sci-fi film a re-watch. Probably my 4th time, I also saw it in theaters. My wife's first so I took an edible and would pause to explain some of the scientific theories that they use as plot devices in English because of the multiple timelines it can be a bit confusing on a first watch.

I know the multiverse stuff has become a bit of a trope thanks to the Marvel studios but this movie is one of the best along with intersecting timelines. I may be as soon bold to compare it to Kubrick's 1968 film 2001: a Space Odyssey. Honestly near perfect movie, definitely a modern classic. 9.7/10

I must admit a little bias because with a daughter on the way the sacrifice of Matthew McConaughey's character got me hard in the feels just imagining leaving all your loved ones behind to venture into the great unknown for the last hope of the human race.

    Ground control to Major Tom...

I just recently watched this and tbh I was lost, when he went into the worm hole and shit got weird that's where they lost me I had no clue what was going on, I understand he was sending messages and all that but it will really throw you for a loop and have you scratching your head

I've tried it twice and having a hard time deciding if I liked it our not. I am typically not a big fan of Time Paradox storylines because too often it is a troupe for bad writing to mask inconsistencies but at least here they were trying to make it make sense just too much brain power needed to follow. I watch movies mostly for escapism I get enough mental exercise during my regular day to day.

If you're not loosely familiar with some of the scientific theories especially relativity I can really see you getting lost. I think they do a decent job explaining some of them throughout. Definitely not a scroll on your phone movie.

My wife and I watched it on IMAX when they did the re-release. It's an amazing movie, even though I've seen it before. It really hit different in IMAX. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend watching it.

Interstellar is a good movie. Comparing this to 2001 isn't bold at all. In many ways it's better as this movie actually has a plot.

I kind of like the open-endedness of it. In my mind Kubrick can do no wrong. Dr. Strangelove: or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb is probably my second favorite movie only to the Good, the bad, and the ugly
