That's wild mileage. My work truck is a Ranger Sport (2.3L turbo iirc) and it struggles to do better than 21mpg. (I'm also regularly doing laps to Odessa or Corpus at 85mph, when I'm not driving through downtown Dallas.) I see little Mavericks all over the place but had no idea there was a hybrid option. The F150 has hybrid engines as well... but not the Ranger, which is a shame because it's a pretty nice size.

We get the option to buy our trucks off the company when they "mile out" and I was thinking of it to get a well- maintained used truck in a year or two, but half the gas bill is looking more attractive every week.

Can confirm. The Maverick Hybrid has similar standardized efficiency numbers as my Tucson Hybrid, and here's how it shakes out when looking at reported vs actual MPG. The overestimation is based on the 'MPG since last fill' value which is by far the most accurate one available on the vehicle. The rest may as well be inverted airspeed gauges.

Note that my driving habit is ~75-85mph as it's mostly highway miles.

My numbers posted above are actual mpg not estimates or based on the dash.

instead of looking at "miles to empty" or "instantaneous mpg", what does the "average mpg" read after using a full tank?

I made the transition to an Accord hybrid recently and seeing 45 MPG after fill-ups.

Coming from a V6 Accord I was lucky to get 21 MPG with the transition feels great.

With gas prices what they are I like to help my brain justify the car payment by suggesting it's saving me $100 a month on gas =P

My neighbors has a Maverick he uses for his business and is very happy with the truck's MPG

And here I am getting around 13 mpg in my V10 F350 at work šŸ˜…. Hey, at least it's a stick...

Man, hybrids are looking pretty good for a daily anymore but I know part of me would miss revving out the engine and gear changes. Although 30-35% better gas milage is tempting.

if it makes you feel any better, my 2025 outback wilderness is netting like 16mpg, and that's a lower, smaller, lighter, 4cyl with a CVT.

Yeah my current DD gets 15-16 mpg. Its rough when gas is 5.89 a gal unless I make the pilgrimage to Costco.

Yeah I’m not buying that. Fords service centers are hot garbage as well.

In my commute in the suburbs I get between 50-60 mpg. I have gotten in the 70's by driving slow. Highway is never lower than 40 mpg.

Is that actual measured fuel mileage or what the onboard fuel mileage calculator shows?

This is from the fake dashboard calc. I'm getting around 500 miles between full and low fuel light. Not sure how to calculate mileage per trip.

Record the actual miles driven from the last fill. Then, use the number of gallons filled on the next fill and divide that into the actual miles driven.

Ex. I have a full tank of fuel. I drive 425 miles and then decide to fill up. The fill is 13.5 US gallons. 425/13.5 = 31.48 mpg.

^Most accurate way^ those on board measurements are notoriously inaccurate. You can set the trip OD to make it easier.

I understand how to calculate the mpg between fill ups. Not sure how to calculate per trip without refueling.

                          You can't.

The instand mileage calculator is a nice gauge for adjusting driving habits but it's ultimately just that, an approximation.
