The Super Sonix Progressive Party Walzmas Giveaway

Ok team, I’ve got a fun idea inspired in part by Cunha’s traveling Trilogy that keeps getting modded. This Spyder Sonix needs some love.
The steel ball detent disintegrated, and I’ve printed a replacement out of PETG. The useless tube feed neck is lost in my pile of parts, so I printed a new one and have mounted it with the appropriate hardware. I’m throwing in a 16” .689 CP one piece for extra goodness.

This thing has potential but is incomplete.

Here’s the deal: MCB members who sign up will collectively make this into whatever frankenmarker they wish. Expectations/rules:

1. You must add, modify, or swap in no more than THREE parts to this marker. Anything taken off should be shipped with it to the next member in line so eventually a working marker + swappable parts will be the resulting package. *Note: Parts that come in a set, like grip panels or screws, can be considered one part.*
2. This must stay a Sonix - the body is the only part that CANNOT be swapped out. It can be drilled, tapped, machined, or otherwise modded if that's in your wheelhouse.
3. Post a picture of the Super Sonix in its new state with a description of what you modded/added/swapped before sending it to the next person.
4. At the end of the list of modders, the marker will be sent to the deserving player selected by an open poll. It’ll probably be early spring.

To jump in as a MODDER, post up stating your interest and suggest a baller who could use a marker that’s been modified by MCB’s finest (and the rest of us 🤣). Include a sentence explaining why this person needs this Sonix. If you don’t have someone in mind and want to mod anyway, that’s fine.

Anyone can sign up to be the final recipient if:

1. The forum member is either new to the sport or coming back from a long hiatus
2. Has a family member that is new to the sport and needs a marker to get started
3. To enter, post up here telling your story and why you need this. I’ll figure out later how to choose the winner.

After Nov 17, I’ll send it out to the first person in line. signups can continue as the marker travels.

LMK if you want different colors for the detent cover & feed neck to match the anodizing. I have red, black, and whitish-clear in sturdy filaments. I could try nylon, too - iI have some weed whacked line that’s kind of a translucent baby blue.

Update: to get more interest I’ve adjusted the max number of additions/swapped parts and I’ll keep the metal frame with this marker.

I’m also reworking the new feed neck - the one I found has some serious shortcomings.

Found a set of delrin bearings I had completely forgotten I had. The detent is ready for paint.

I’ve got kid in 7th grade in my church who’s excited about paintball after just a day of woodsball this summer. He has no gear whatsoever. I’ll nominate him (will call him “J” for anonymity). Anyone can suggest a person to keep this Spyder after we’re done with it.
