Donate to Charity for a Chance to Win My First Walz

[The Hobbit]

Received this mag as a Walz from Mar last season. I don’t want to see it languish and sit in a closet. With that in mind I bought a barrel, hopper, and elbow to set it up, so I could give it away here. Thought maybe it could be passed on to someone without their own setup.

rules:

Share the joy this year, make a charitable donation to the cause or organization of your choice. Post or pm me 10$=1 chance.

share funny memes or other jokes, if I like it I’ll throw an extra chance in with your donation.

I’ll let this open until Dec 17th.

US resident only, sorry to the northern members.

[The Hobbit]

Also, volunteering counts, 1hour volunteering = 10 chances.

I would like to coach kids and adults 5 hours a week and would like to donate my entries to a person who is yet to be determine, if you’ll allow.

I would like my entries to go to RPP.

As the self appointed grand poohba of utmost importance in this thread. I shall allow it

[Cdn_Cuda]

Thank you good sir!

[Riot]

I donated to my local state park association, does that count?

Yep that meets my definition of charitable giving.

So far, I’m really liking my odds…

But let’s get some participation for the greater good.

[The Hobbit]

Bueller? Bueller?

[Glovebox Operator]

Hopefully this counts. My wife and I, through our shop, donate to several local charities and host a donation barrel for a local food bank.

Of course charity doesn’t have to be monetary, though I do need an approximate value for this.

[Glovebox Operator]

Oh, right, that would probably help. We donated probably around $350 in product and gift cards.

Got ya, kinda skewed the odds with that generosity.

[Glovebox Operator]

Want to just put me down for whatever the average turns out to be?. Such a cool mag is very generous too. This is my first Walzmas and it's inspiring me to do something fun for next year.

[The Hobbit]

To everyone that’s viewed but hasn’t commented or participated. Do you feel this is in poor taste or is there something else that is keeping participation down? It seems that this is pretty stagnant and I’d like to liven it up before it ends.

Help me out, what’s holding you back?

[Cal440]

Will be picking up some things for my work place toys for tots box this week. Just been busy with two Thanksgivings.

[Impactfour]

I can only speak for myself, but most of the charities I donate to are associated with politics to some degree and I try to keep my beliefs separate from this community as it's truly one of the last places on the internet without political arguments and the like. That being said I'm hoping to grab some toys for tots when I get around to my in store Xmas shopping!

[Cdn_Cuda]

I am having the same response with my membership giveway. I have had very few entries and one suddenly became green! Walzmas is just slow this year so far.

it’s not in poor taste, in fact, I think I did this a few years ago. A few things I learned…

- Receipts
- Privacy

1) Stricter guidelines seem distasteful since its charity, but someone trying to win a prize needs proof. Most websites will show you a direct receipt. If it was more of a Toys For Tots situation… the toy had to be bought somewhere.

2) Not everyone wants to show that they did or how much they donated. These things are private for some. I took it upon myself to PM you, but make sure people know that’s an option.

3) Ask PaintHappy or one of the Cuckmandos to change your title. Something that explains the thread a little better. “Donate to Win a Mag” or something of the sort. Probably get more eyes on the thread.

I’ll add, while I was going to donate to the causes I did, this helped them out because I definitely added an extra $10 to each one to get one more slot here trying to win the mag.

And just to cover my own ass, in case this post seems in bad taste, I will also be donating the marker (or turning it into a donation one way or another) if I win.

Happy Holidays, folks!
