I mean it.

From k-cups to conical burr grinders. Show me what you got. If it's got cream in it, you've made a mocha frappa whatever and I no longer consider it coffee. 🙈

My personal tastes are in the middle of the road, skewing toward dark roasts with low acidity.

Favorite cup of coffee: 500mL of just-off-boil water, poured over 30 to 35g of M1 ground (per Capresso's metrics) Guatemalan Antigua beans with a medium roast in a french press, stirred and steeped for 90 seconds.

Favorite k-cup: Starbucks Sumatra. Used to hate Starbucks, but their consistency is appealing in times of need.

Favorite pre-ground espresso brand: Cafe Bustelo.

Favorite french press: 1L Bodum Young press, glass vessel with plastic/rubber encasement. Old amazon listing is dead, but has photos. This thing has survived so many outdoor adventures... Meanwhile, my more traditional one with metal housing that never leaves the house died within the first couple of years. Replaced it with another one of the plastic housing variants and it's still in my kitchen today. 1L is perfect for a couples camping trip because you can shove about 3 mornings worth of pre-ground coffee into it - 2 in plastic bags and one in the bottom.

Favorite portable espresso maker: Wacaco Nanopresso with the Nespresso adapter. I don't own this particular setup right now, but I have had several great years of use out of an earlier model that requires fresh espresso grounds. I'd much prefer to pack Nespresso pods since I think they taste better than anything I can carry per-ground for a 2+ day trip.

And just like paintball I made upgrade! Precision shower screen for better water dispension, precision basket, Kruve espresso glasses that have fins that swirls your coffee.

Between the grinder and espresso machine is my tamping station from a fruit press. Show your tamping pressure with the psi gauge. Have a 58.5mm tamping base.

I'm not particularly picky, but I do enjoy grinding my own beans with a little hand grinder.

I've done the sine wave of coffee. Stared with farm coffee (percolator, way too strong), got into the coffee biz and started getting fancy (aeropress, pourovers, espresso) and now that I've left the industry I'm back to paper filter drip. I still break out my Chemex or Kalita when I'm feeling saucy, but my daily coffee is back to simplicity.

It's overpriced. They hype themselves up to a certain crowd, and that's the most important part for them. You can get better coffee, for a cheaper price.

First - Siress got me drinking coffee back in college. Good thing, too, because Red Bull is still expensive, and tossing back shots of Turkish coffee for a couple years would have killed me otherwise.

I blew out a Tassimo after bringing it to the office and trading shots with my Ethiopian coworker. We mourned. Shortly thereafter, though - victory! The owner installed a Miele bean-to-brew system that makes half-decent espresso, drip, and I suppose you can add milk if you're so inclined. But as Siress once said in 2009, "if I add milk to your coffee, it's an insult - I'm calling your coffee bitter." Now I have a pair of Nespressos, one for the wife at her office, and one for the house for weekends. Sometimes I'll do a pourover, but with kids, it's easier to just be done with it.

I do miss Turkish coffee, though - less the flavor than the experience. Dipping in a sugar cube and nibbling off the corner, then nursing the 2-oz shot for a couple hours while BSing in some historic neighborhood as hookah smoke wafted by - it was awesome. America really needs to figure out what it means to relate to people on a daily basis.

The Turkish coffee experience sounds awesome. I need to find a place to try and replicate that after the pandemic is resolved. I've had a few Turkish coffees but I'm not sure I was getting the right experience. A tiny pop-up shop in a strip mall of Marietta probably shouldn't be what I judge as the Standard for Turkish coffees. Maybe we can find one and catch up someday. Give the kids a sip and see how it plays out. For Science.

Before the quarantine I was drinking ≥6 americanos everyday from the office espresso maker after my typical morning cup for the commute. Turns out, that's too much caffeine if I'm not mountain biking before work and walking around talking to people most of the day. Who knew. My office in Ireland had a Nespresso and I quite enjoyed it, so I've been thinking about complementing the Keurig with one since this WFH thing appears to be sticking for the remainder of the year at least. Anything I should know beforehand? I love a good crema, so the VirtuoLine seems appealing - but the selection looks weak. I'd rather have quality espresso without crema than get stuck with a bad selection of coffees. Thoughts?

I usually use a Baratza Encore to grind and an Aeropress to brew. It's an affordable, but quality setup. Been looking at travel setups, but am in no rush since COVID... some sort of portable manual burr grinder and small heater to use with the Aeropress.

The Nespresso machines are nice; the Classic line allows off- brand pods but I find myself preferring the branded pods. It certainly tastes better; the knockoffs tend to leak both aroma while stored, and water when used. Yuck.

Other than the option to cheap out, the Classic pods are 30% cheaper.

Most importantly, the Vertuo has 4 espresso varieties, but some great drip, long espresso, americano, and (yuck) flavored options. The Classic has over a dozen espressos.

I use the classic, my wife brings the Vertuo to the office.

I'll grind my own beans and brew in a french press. It's not as convenient as a Keurig, but the results are noticeable.

I use a hand crank grinder and a GSI Outdoors french press for my coffee everyday. The insulated press is indestructible, and can let the beans steep for up to an hour and still be steamy.

Typical coffees are the Aldi's whole bean "special" (single origin, organic, dew-picked and flown from Iraq, cleansed in the finest quality spring water, etc) and Costco's big 3lb bag of [insert country that grows coffee] rotator. Both are surprisingly good for the low price points.

How dare you disparage the Canadian National drink: Double-double!

It depends on what I'm doing what I prefer in terms of coffee. Usually like just a standard cup with cream and sugar (like a double double) but if I'm going to a nice cafe I like to get a late to sip while I read my book and listen to music.

Did have a nice espresso at my girlfriends brother's place this weekend though (he's got a fancy automated burr grinder, espresso press, brewer thing). I do enjoy an espresso, but haven't really found the right occasion for them.

Forgot to mention That I have a cheap blade grinder and a french press which I purchased years ago when the employer got rid of the employees coffee pool, implemented free coffee in the new lunch room kitchen, which turned out to be undrinkable swill. Still trying out various beans that I can get at the grocery store to find the one that I like best.
