Haha yeah, I thought the blade-master battle was disappointing but also funny. The Ishmael battle felt like a victim of budget.

There were little moments in the whole episode but especially with moiraine’s flaming dragon where it felt like the show-runners were trying to call back to Dune/ bene gesseret/ Maud’dib legend-building across generations. I could be reaching, but I got that feeling watching the episode but not while reading the books

I watched the first season and I felt that they had deviated too far from the books for me to keep watching it. I've seen positive reviews of the second season and at the very least, it got a much better budget and a better production values and yet, they went further away from the books, not just in plots and character arcs but even 'physics' of the stories universe.
