Calling any electrically inclined MCB'ers - wiring a european vacuum pump in US

looking at getting a this vacuum system from a dealer in UK - the pump is italian, and this particular model is not sold in the US. it is meant for european 220/240 volt systems and., at least as far as i can tell is rated for 50 and 60Hz operation

It appears from the inter webs this is fairly easy to wire up is the US with no issues i have a full commercial shop with 220 outlets, with more available if needed and 3 phase. thought I'd reach out to the MCB community and see if anyone understands this better and can let me know what it might take
    attached is the spec sheet

reason for going to this length - this thing sucks! at 14.6 CFM it can hit full vac in a 26 liter volume in 30 seconds. I cannot find anything comparable in the US - if you happen to have a domestic option I'm all ears

You need a nameplate on one of the motor. I think it'll only draw 4 amps at full load from what I see. .9 KW is 900 watts. So 900÷220 is 4. Seems to not care if it's single phased or o. 3phase, but you know it'll suck better on 3 phase.

But I'd buy a knife disconnect at the very least, but if you can afford it I'd make a small panel with a motor starter and an over load, and add a start and stop latch circuit so you can flip your knife on, press the green button, and it runs... press the red it stops. Flip the knife to leave it for the knife.

I used to work for them; the vane pumps are Chinese (so I never messed with them) but stocked and (most importantly) tested in Texas. The RX-20 is quite possibly the same pump with a different label, but a NEMA motor. They have dry vane, too, of you don't need to go as deep.

They just hired a much more qualified quality manager, too, so I'd say it's probably a reliable bet. Not sure what they charge, though.

apparently this pump was made specially for easy composites, and the price is really good. Vacuumworld.com sells DVP pump in the US but anything in the range of the specs this thing has is thousands of dollars

so... can throw a 3 prong 220/30A plug on this thing and hook it up to a standard 220V single phase circuit and expect it to run fine? i did talk to tech support in england and they have sold a few of these to US customers who got them to work, but did not know the specifics

In theory you can wire it up with a NEMA plug and circuit with a double pole breaker.

The possible problem is if that piece of equipment is UL listed or equivalent. If that starts on fire/blows up/etc your insurance may not cover anything.

we'll only be running it for short periods while we are right there with it to de-gass silicones for mold making, so if something goes haywire we'll catch it. also hence the desire for a plug over hardwire

I'd still add a knife disconnect at the very lease. With a female pigtail out of the box.

Pulling a plug out in the event something is faulting is going to prove tougher than you think.

Make sure you get single phase - it'll have some capacitors the size of a shot glass sitting on the motor, usually. It doesn't specify on the spec sheet, but I'll guess that's their default. The q&a also says they'll supply a US plug as long as you confirm that it'll be on a 220v circuit.

It's about as much power as a small table saw. A typical shop "paddle switch" from Rockler or Powertec would be a good investment.
