    Question for the two wheeler folk....

    I'm leaning towards grabbing a newer(to me) motorcycle. I'm more a dual-sport/off-road motorcycle rider. Last street cruiser, I owned/rode, got quick parked in a turn, after miscalculations in the apex, of an unfamiliar country road "bend" were made. 🤦‍♂️...some bones were broke, some were just chipped and/or cracked. I said a few four letter words, got the bike off me(leg pinned) and said a couple more four letter words, picked up the bike and said/thought a lot more four letter words. Unknown to me at the time, my scapula was broke/cracked completely in half and explained why the hand worked but, not the arm (one of the hardest bones to break...ppfff, easy peasy 😏). Managed to restart the engine and made my way home. But, I digress...anywho....

    Looking at a 2011 Triumph Thunderbird Storm with 16k on it, for $4000. Is it worth the $4K? Should I stick to four wheels or two feet and leave the street bikes alone? Should I just keep looking for a good Dual-sport?

    It's a 750 lbs ox. A 1700 and you are known to ride new twisties? That's way more cruiser than street. I'm sure the big parrell twin will be more comfortable than a Harley but really make sure that's what you want. You may want something a little more nimble. 4k isn't bad but not really a steal. All that said, you can always own it for a year then sell it quickly for not much loss. Offer $3200, buy at $3500 or less.

      Just passed 100K on my daily driver Super Tenere (1200cc/750lb) so I'm biased, but go for it 👍

      I like dual sport the best, but know that you won't be doing much more than jeep trails ... They are awesome on long drive and forestry roads 🤩

        You've got to load a bunch on a Super 10 before it gets that heavy. Aren't they listed under 600 wet? Sounds about right loaded for a trip though.

        I must agreed with the more upright seating position and shaft drive for a daily rider. Even a 150 miles on most cruisers and my butt hurts even with a custom seat. I find bikes like an S10 or GS much happier for any kind of distance.

        Right at 600 wet and naked ... + Case, brackets and a few things in the case, it adds up quick 😜
        (I have a battery jumper, puncture repair kit and compressor, 1l of gas and bottle of water at all time on the bottom of a case ...)

        Daily drive here in Texas, I have a naked upright and love it. Super comfy but the wind is a biiiiiiatch. Rode a buddiesVstrom 650 and was impressed with the way it felt. A bit higher CG then the bikes I usually ride but it was still super nimble. I would look at the adventure series of bikes.

          WeeStroms are a crazy value bike, added one to the fleet last year. They are great for our less than ideal Alaska roads. My step son rode ours on a bunch of several hundred mile days this summer. As this is end of season for us, there are 2 or 3 on FB Marketplace for 2 - 2.5k. Alot of bike for the dollar.
