OK, I'm thinking about a tonneau cover for my truck. I like the utility & security of the topper I currently have on it, but I really just want to drive my truck without it. A tonneau seems like a good compromise between security (or at least being enclosed) & being able to drive it w/o the topper. I really just want to change it up.
My main question is this: I've read that you don't need bed rail/tailgate caps to use a tonneau cover. But would it be recommended? If I'm going to get a tonneau cover I want to do it right. For reference I drive a 2007 Ford Ranger & I'd likely get a roll-up for flexibility of use & quick access.
Any input would be appreciated.
