Wrap for braided lines?

What is the best thing to use to cover a braided steel air line? Where do we find that?

Imo. Shrink tubing.

Paint. Use primer and they paint quite well

This makes perfect sense, but I would've said shrink tubing as well. Paint is less durable, but it'd look a lot cooler to keep the braided look.

I use electrical tape, but shrink tube if you want it to look a bit nicer.

Shrink tube is a bit more permanent... I find the adhesive on the electrical tape breaks down over time.

In fiddling around with a Spyder build recently, I took off the original braided line (unrelated to my reason for originally posting) and it still has the electrical tape I put there around Christmas of 97. It is super crusty and has only survived because I haven’t touched it since 1999, but I thought that was a pretty good run for that batch of tape!

I currently have a length of shrink wrap on order. Hopefully it will adequately protect the expensive anodizing work I had done to this automag.

Poly expandable braided cable sleeving works well. Very durable and you can get it with braided patterns, looks better than shrink IMO.

Heat shrink wrap arrived. Feeling good about it!
Only minor finger/thumbprint loss. FYI it takes a good long while using a lighter to get the whole length of material shrunk.

I use either a small butane torch or a stove burner, lighters take far too long. Ain't nobody got time for that.

A paint stripping heat gun works great for shrink tube.

You are the bain of my existence. I flip a decent chunk of tippmanns and spyders and every time I get one in that is wrapped in electrical tape it's a nightmare to get off

I can't see why it wouldn't work, other than taking a lot of cord and being bulkier than heat shrink tubing.

Heat shrink or Tool Dip. Heat Shrink cheapest, easiest and simplest to reverse. Tool Dip works great but need to make sure you mask off threads and is a PITA to remove once it gets into the braids.
