I have the motor from a long gone shattered empire revvy. Will that fit into any of the different versions of the JT revvy without much issue? I don't have a empty JT revvy to try it out myself otherwise I would.
If it’s the sound activated one just let it go sell the internals and find yourself a $20 Revvy with eyes. Those sound activated ones just don’t do the job especially with anything quite shooting. I buy revvys all the time for sub $25 you can’t beat there used prices. A replacement shell is going to cost you more then a good OG revvy with eyes that are superior in every way.
The empire reloaded kits fit in older recycling shells. For sure the early-mid 2000 shells that are more brittle. There are some ribs that need to be removed internally for the motor to fit properly though.
The motors are essentially the same in the reloader kits and revvys but I have noticed some Revvy shafts are hex’s and some like 20-30 point splined. I haven’t found a pattern or rhyme/reason to it. So if you have one of the older 4 blade impellers, you may be able to swap to the empire reloader impeller which looks a lot like the J&J vortex (I think that’s the brand and name??) impellers. The reloader kits I have all use a hex for the impeller to mate to the motor.
That's a good idea, I never thought about trying to swap the impellers. I'll have to check that out. I have one that runs fine, but I'm worried the shell is getting brittle so I don't really use it anymore.
