Guerilla Air Machete ASA: Your Thoughts?

I see these quite often being sold as old stock. I like the angle. Any issues with these? Mounting? Pin engagement?

Far to popular to have issues I would assume. I haven’t used one tho. It’s a very simple design what could got wrong with it.

All of the ones I have had are machined incorrectly....

The pin engages too soon so you have to drop a second oring in the asa or screw on your tank very fast.

This was my experience as well. In theory they should be good, but the machining was shoddy enough for me to ditch it.

Probably got a knock off one. Sconi had some made that were sold cheap because the front port was off set and the machine work was ruff. Was it dust black?

No. It came from guerilla at a booth a few years back.

Why would you assume this? Gorilla air also had a line of tanks in the late 00s, they were very popular because of the price, the regulators also had a tenancy to implode

They are also the ones who typically do not put a output pressure burst disk on their tanks. So when the regulator implodes, if the regulator seat is not fully seated, you are putting straight tank pressure into your marker.

As a rule of thumb, I don't touch gorilla air products.

There are a bunch of replica GA regs and ASA’s on the market Those are the ones you got to watch out for. The Myth was knocked off so much even GA couldn’t tell what ones were fakes the got stuck fixing a bunch of regs they didn’t produce. It was a good reg it was just noisy (ping). I have one that I use on a 9ci because it only adds a 1/2” to the bottle. It came off a bottle from the early 2000’s only thing I have done is change out the burst disk to to 3k spec and shim the pressure up to 825ish. It’s not a bad reg I have used worse.

Sounds like I'll avoid this one. Thanks.
