AGD Longbow - things to look for when buying.

Picking up an AGD Longbow tomorrow. Is there anything I should watch out for or know when looking at it? Based on an X-valve and has been sitting for 5 years or so. Bringing and SHP tank to test for leaks.

Nope, its just an automag with a well made body kit. As long as you can rebuild an X-valve, theres not much else to it. As long as the magazines haven't been sat on/crushed, you should be good to go.

I was not a fan of having to swap out magazines on the field. I prefer to be able to refill on the field. Luckily I found someone selling a magazine that has a hole drilled in it so I can refil it with 10rd tube.

Complete personal preference but I swapped the intelli frame out for a single trigger and the xvalve for a classic vale. Makes it feel so much more like a sniper gun to me.

The followers in the magazines can become harder to move over time if not taken care of. Sometimes people store them with the spring compressed, so just make sure they slide smoothly in the tube.

        Otherwise it's typical automag stuff.

        Super fun guns.

I bought mine used, so I have no idea if it was cheap replacement screws or what, but all 6 screws in the rail holding on the back half were fine, but stripped when taking them off. Each one I had to Dremel slots into and unscrew with a flat head. I swapped them with good quality stainless steel ones and have not had a problem since.

Ah, the joys of cheap screws. Nothing worse than feeling the head stripping while trying to loosen it.

If you can have it for a good price you can always turn it into an X valve tac one mag.
The body is a tac one and the feed is attach on the fron rail. But if you remove the magasine, the stock and add a feedneck you have a standard mag with an x valve

Magasine and stock usually sell well on their own.

I’m definitely a buy first figure out what to do with it later kind of person. It’s within my budget and is a neat piece that’s even local. My last X-mag didn’t work out well for me, but maybe this one will.

She’s a beast! Air up and shot without an issue. Brought at SHP tank to test. Show it’s age and use but in good condition. Follower is smooth in the mag and includes a second mag.

Barrel is an Armotech with a suppressor.

The mags seems really simple, but no one makes them anymore and they are super hard to find. They seem to go for about $150 each. Before I found my reloadable one I made a 3d printed 15rd reloadable one. Worked great. So if you spot extra mags, it is a good idea to snag them!

The longbow doesn't feel like anything else I have used in paintball before. It is really unique and super fun!

Looking forward to shooting some paint. My arms a little short, so I might end up taking the stock off the back like yours.

The mags don’t look too difficult, I would think someone like Rainmaker would be able to make something work for them.

Yeah, I have never been a fan of remote lines. I am already too big and gaumie to worry about catching branches and bunkers with a remote line, so I just run a back bottle.

Just shot off a mag through it. Really nice and smooth, feeds really well too! That trigger really flies on the Xvalve so going to take a told of disciple to not shoot so fast. I see why you switched to a single finger frame.

Lol, I found the same thing. I had to go classic valve too!

Looks sweet. I have my friends Longbow with me right now, which I'm converting to a Q-Bow since his mags are gummed up.

I’ve got the Qbow parts as well with the mag adaptor.

My biggest issue when I owned mine was the summer humidity here in the south. On a warm, humid day, the paintballs stacked in the mags would turn into nerd ropes and stop feeding entirely, rendering it completely useless

That would definitely suck! Being in the Pacific Northwest I should be fine. My trouble is I’m more stout than lanky, so not a lot of places I can carry a second mag easily.
