F4 Illustrator opinions?

Iirc, the Raptor was a F1 clone. Same plug and barrel threads, nearly same internals dimensions. Both had a very narrow hammer/valve (about .50).
I've got the prototype Raptor, and you can see the resemblance.

How did they manage to make it so much heavier, then?

Much thicker body extrusion, probably to compensate for cheaper aluminium.
