    Meteor Lower Internals Sweetspot

Does anyone happen to know the pressure sweetspot for stock Meteor lower internals?

I think meteors are a bit more obscure and I’ve struggled to find good info on where to sweetspot the reg to.

    3 1/2 turns in @350psi said fab.

      Thank you Loophole!

I tried that and can't get good velocity on mine with all stock guts. I'm going to pull it apart and verify it's the meteor springs and try again.

One of mine has madman springs so that one will probably be the problem child. What kind of meteor do you have?

I've got a Meteor M1 v1. It's the first run with the window lower tube. It definitely has the red valve and I bought new springs off of ebay from Meteor's store. The hammer spring is known to be meteor but I need to pull the valve and swap it with the meteor spring to be sure.

Ah gotcha. The meteors are such nice looking cockers. I hope you enjoy it and that sweet spotting goes well

I absolutely love Meteor milling and have an M1 sniper in the way because I couldn't pass it up. I think it has stock lower tube. But IVG flush shooting in consistent 280s from the video the previous owner sent.

Nice! I have an M1 V2 and a Featherlight V2 on the way (I got a bit carried away). I sold an M1 V2 some years ago and I really miss that thing so I had to pick up another

If you have a photo once it comes in, I’d be curious to see it

Hellion360 tuned mine I have no idea what’s in it but it shoots money like all the stuff he builds! Maybe he has some insight.

The ritual is complete and now I appear!

Each gun is a unique snowflake and must be tuned to it's springs and internals. That being said most Meteors I have tuned with Meteor valves are in the 250-300 range.
Chuck E Ducky I don't remember for sure your internals. But that one is on the lower pressure side. Maybe Meteor valve with light coned spring, Shocktech Hammer with light spring. But that was like 100 guns ago so 🤷.

Ego10Baller - have you used a chronograph to sweetspot a cocker before?

That’s great to know on the pressure range; thank you Hellion.

I have indeed gone the chrono route. It takes longer but it certainly works

Happy to help, hopefully it gives you a good starting point for sweetspotting.

Finally took some time and pulled my whole gun apart, lubed everything, checked it all out and swapped the springs. The valve spring was a mysterious straight sided spring that was very soft. I swapped the Meteor cone valve spring in its place. The meteor one is slightly stiffer but also slightly longer. I had the original hammer spring in which I think must have been a CCM because it had a CCM hammer. It currently has a Meteor hammer that I swapped in. Shot in the back yard (just eyeball chrono) and wasn't getting more than 250fps with 4.5 turns in on the IVG. I went back and swapped in a Maddmann green spring and now it's shooting up to velocity. I still haven't sweespotted it but it's doing an estimated 280 and my sidewinder hpr is maybe 1/32" of an inch from flush so an estimated 375-400 psi.

The shot feel is snappy but the whole gun feels snappy. I love the meteor slider frame, it's so precise and with their rounded hammer lug it has an insanely light smooth pull. The trigger is pretty much not able to be short stroked the way I have it timed. I suspect I will fall in love with this gun now that its running.

Played with timing and sear springs and it's perfection now. The trigger has a crispy 3mm pull at a perfect weight.

Nice setup! Love the UL revvy combo. Smoked revvy looks good.

Thanks! The meteors always looked to me like a retro-mod sort of build sort of like a modernized STO so the dye barrel and revvy just look right.

The Meteor I just got had a weird feeling pump stroke, which is a bummer considering the nice parts it came with. Has a CCM EZ pump kit, and opened up the lower tube: a green hammer spring, Meteor "tall boy"? hammer, stock valve and spring. If set up as a 'cocker this may be fine, but not for pump! Have a CCM SS25 valve/stem and CCM springs on the way.

Nice. Did you pick those up from CCM? I might try to do the same with my Featherlight V2 as it seems to have a very very stiff lower tube.

Ego10Baller yep direct from CCM. I don't like the plastic-y cupseal on the stock stem so decided to just grab the whole valve. I'll let you know how it all works out!
