Single Trigger Automag Frames - Suggestions

Considering putting a single trigger mag frame on my Longbow. I know people really like the standard single finger mag frames, but being spoiled by metal cocker frames I would prefer a metal frame.

Are there any good options around? Are there any modifications/tuning necessary when changing mag frames or is it essentially plug and play like a cocker (ignoring possible 3-way hose change)?

You may have to adjust the sear rod if changing frames. It should be a credit card's thickness from the back of the trigger when aired up and safety on.

I'm a huge fan of the stock single trigger CF grip. They're indestructible and also look super sharp with the wrap around AGD/VL grips (especially on tac one bodies).

There's also the pot metal single hole frames made by WGP that came on earlier mags. I have one of these and the trigger is noticeably smoother than the CF, just the overall construction feels cheap. Or one of the Eclipse/SP anno'd ones. Benchmark would be the next most common other than stock but they feel (and look imo) terrible. There's also Dye, Nummech (gas through) and probably another brand or two.

Do you need wing frame or flat top frame?
It all depend on if you are using a stock AM/MM rail or not.

I really love the feel of my Kapp groovy frame
Benchmark are comfy too but for the one I had the flat top one with the smaller trigger needed more sear adjustment than the ones with wings which will not work if you have a ULE rail

It’s a stock Tac One body with X valve, so I’ll assume it’s got a ULE rail

I like the Benchmark frames too. They give you a long/soft feel vs short/snappy of the AGD frames.

Sounds like it might be best to go with a CF frame and see how I like it.

          Are CF frames flat tops?

Your tac one have a RT rail so yes you need a flat top frame

Here is what a CF frame look on mine, color does not match perfect the ano but they are comfy. I prefer the AGD rubber grip over the VL68 rubber grip.

I love the agd carbon frames as far as singles go. My favorite grips for them are the old style agd wrap around that is a hard plastic and not a rubber. They have a good rough texture, but feel great in the hands. They feel a lot like the smart parts wood grips without being slippery.

If you like the look of the stock carbon frame, but want a metal one for anodizing purposes and such, Theres a guy on the agd mag page who made some calling them meteor frames
Benchmark frames are also very nice. Luke has made some singles too, havent tried one personally
Numech has made a gas through single frame, but their like unobtanium right now

I think I’ll go the cheapest route and work my way up.

Gotcha, then the stock carbon fiber frame is the way to go, you can find them for 35ish with grips

I will never understand why everybody likes the Benchmark frames all of a sudden. They make for a long, mushy, horrible trigger pull. 15+ years ago you couldn't give them away. And now they're a hot commodity. I don't get it.

I like the Dye/32* frames. They're .45, aluminum, take standard AGD triggers and safeties, and they just look good. They all do have wings though. They're easy enough to machine off.

Agreed - hated every Benchie I've ever had on a Mag.

Dang dont remember benchmark given away way back. But of course could be that I did not know where to look or had found MCB then.

I have several different frames, zgrip, carbon, intelli, Luke, rpg, medusa, groovy, stormwalk etc. They all work for me, yeah might feel better but I am not overly picky.

Plenty of dye frames with wings milled, just like the benchmarks. I have a single trigger dye wings milled and double dye wings still in it.

I remember Benchy's going for like $20-30 on AO from around 2000 up until about ten years ago. Now they hangout around $100.
