    Sheridan valve tool?

Someone in a local group posted about this, and wanting a valve tool for it. They mentioned getting it (and other parts) from PPS is a no go. Anyone else know where to find the proper valve tool?

    I made one.

I'll have to go look it up again to be sure but if I remember right

3/8 socket drive adapter and drill a hole right in the middle for the valve stem. I forget what size that hole is though. Start small, work your way up.

I also had to heat up my drive adaptor to get it to lose some hardness first

Really? I thought the fast changer design, and the passenger side quick strip were tell tale signs of McMurry.

That style changer is called a quicksilver irrc and Glenn was selling them through PPS.

Edit.. Yep here's one on Camille.

I have a small stash of them too. I used to sell them semi-regularly, but stopped since Palmer's carried 'em.

I could dig out my supply if anyone's interested.

those cheap reversible bit screwdrvers at lowes are easily made into one. one end is close to correct diameter. file it square instead of round and you have a valve tool.

I got nothing about the valve tools, but that is an awesome looking stock.

I'm sure a brass or mild steel version would do most of the time, but I recently discovered my old one is pretty tough. I thought I would put it in my little lathe and put some knurling on it. My knurling tool didn't scratch it. That explained how I bent the T-handle many years ago without any other failures.
