    Footwear?

I'm tired of playing in workboots and thinking of going more paintball specific... what's out there? Is it better to snag some other-sports-specific footwear like football cleats, or is there something mind-blowing on the market that won't break the bank but also last longer than a season?
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

My regular footwear are trail running with gortex so they are waterproof. Can get pricy though. I have pair of New Balance ones that were very comfortable but the gortex wore out prematurely.

I love trail runners for general play, only downside is less ankle support.

I really like my low cut Keens hikers , they're waterproof, and have that big overbuilt toe, like their sandals do.

if you needed more ankle support, I'd guess they can also be had in a mid cut

You know, I've been playing in football cleats for the past couple of years, and while they certainly have their advantages(ankle support being a huge one for me, but also great outright grip on grass), I have been thinking about going with something like a pair of hiking shoes for the more forested fields.

I've been using Solomon speed cross 3 for years. They are cheap ($50ish) they have an aggressive tread but it's still a rubber sole so you don't have to worry about rocks/wet logs/concrete nearly as much as you do with dedicated cleats

The ones I have in just now replacing and I think it's been 3 years. I haven't exactly been nice to them either

When I'm on turf.... Nike indoor soccer cleats.

When out in nature... Nike trail runners or Nike trail boots

Do you get a lot of wet shoes up there during play?

I usually go light and breathable, but a lot of those come apart in the water. I'm thinking I wouldn't wear my paintball shoes in Canada.

Merrell Moab 3 Mid Waterproof/Vibrum soles. Light with reasonable support (bad ankles) and I have been using them for paintball for around 3-4 years and they have held up well. I do waterproof because I hate wet feet and tend to play woods ball mostly. These a fairly breathable and really do not have too much problem with my feet getting excessively hot.

This is exactly what I play in (mine are old enough they MIGHT be Moab 2s though)

I've been playing in my old motorcycle boots for over a decade and wouldn't play in anything else ...
big tall ankle support has saved my feet from twist and turn while running around more time than I care to remember đź‘Ť

I love my On CloudRocks. Light weight, water resistant, ankle coverage. And the outsole makes me feel like I have alpaca feet they are great to run un and they get good AT traction.

I wear either Altra Timp or Altra Olympus trail runners. I like the zero drop and wide toe box on Altra shoes. They’re the only brand of shoe that I wear now.

I have been used a very old pair of JT mid top paintball cleats. Bought them decades ago and need new laces and insoles, or to be replaced completely. They owe me nothing at this point, so I should just put them out of their misery.

I've been eyeballing Inov8 trail boots for a while, but they're so expensive...

I've been using Altra Superiors, but need a bit more middle I think. They're very thin.

I prefer Altras that have the Altra Ego Max midsole. Right now I have a pair of Timp 4, Torin 5 Luxe, and an older pair of Olympus with the Altra Ego Max midsole. When the Timps wear out I'm going to try the Mont Blanc BOA.

I wear the Torin 5 Luxe to work. I think I'm on my 3rd pair and will be due for 4th soon.
