    Kapp LPR Questions.

    Tried to a Google but found very little, but have questions about this Kapp LPR:

    Second, I can very easily spin the silver adjustment piece at the front, like just by hand. There is no resistant. And if threaded in all the way it just bottoms out. Is this normal?

    I do have a 3 piece WGP kicking around, so I can always swap out if needed.

      Never used one but they have the same theory of operation as all the other Automag style regulators. Strange that the adjuster just freely spins. Is there a spring in there? It might be too weak to hold the knob with friction. The ANS LPR has a nylon set screw for friction. I bet you could put an Automag or similar tournament lock/thumb adjuster on there.

          It does have a spring and I replaced the o-rings. I don’t have any Automag parts kicking around. I’ll just swap out the lpr.

            You could use a nut as a lock. I don't know if it would have enough threads exposed with the pressure adjusted though. Or maybe it will stiffen up with air on it.

              You could try a little bit of loctite purple as well....since once you find the right cocking force for the ram, you can set and forget

              If I remember correctly (been a minute since I had one in my hands) the knob won't be that easy to turn when aired up.

                  Even with good pressure in my tank there seems to be a problem. These has a Schrader valve, so might be an issue with it. I’ve swapped in the 3-piece LPR now.

                  The 3 piece LPR works great. Now just need to time.

                      Piston in backwards?

                      Take it apart and put the pieces on the table - someone here knows them inside out, for sure. It's been several years since I've messed with one.

                                      And got it back on the front block and works great now! Just need to fix a massive 3-way leak now.
