This sounds stupid but it works. Take a high temp hot glue stick and cut a thin disk off of it with a razor blade. Use a hole punch or appropriate size drill bit and make a hole for the pierce pin.
I have done this in may Nelspots and 12g changers with great results.Comment

You can make one out of a CCI pierce and a vented set screw. I still have the stuff to make one more, I think; last time I tried it was a bear to thread the pierce pin (needed high sulfur tap oil and a fixture) but doable.Feedback
