Bushmaster rebuild

I received a bushmaster, I am not sure what year / model.

considering doing a rebuild. Is it possible to get parts ?

I am not an electro guy and I just got a BKO in. So I looked on youtube and such for rebuild videos and I couldn't believe I didn't find a single one. Long story short, I am shipping it to CapitalPaintball, who seems to be able to fix anything!

If you want to break it down yourself I could help. I've owned a number of these over the years. They're not bad compared to their higher-end poppet counterparts. Just tedious with the extra tray screws.

If you are planning to use it for actual gameplay, I HIGHLY suggest swapping out the HPR. Those are notorious for being straight-up junk.

Random question: what does BKO stand for?

I always thought it was "Bushmaster Knock Off" Since the BKO's were a good deal cheaper then the B2k's

To my knowledge, there was no formal meaning for the name. Bushmaster Knock Off was just sort of adopted by the paintball community. I don't believe ICD came up with it.

I've rebuilt a TON of bushmasters over the years. Unfortunately never had my hands on a BKO, but they are super similar, just a fasor instead of a true EP. It should be REALLY easy to rebuild it yourself. The biggest weak point on the ICD electros is the wiring harnesses are crap. Very thin, very brittle, very old wires. I'd honestly just recommend a new harness from Sam (vapor works)

Other then that, vapor valves and bolts for the B2k will both work in BKOs as well, but they are really hard to find now. Be sure to check out my tuning guide for getting B2ks to shoot modern paint.

I do typically replace the HPR's & LPR's, and given it's age I'd just replace every seal in it. Should just be standard buna "o" Rings you can get at a hardware store, late 2k3 and 2k4 bushmasters need 90 durometer on the manifold, but prior years you can use 70 durometer just fine. Obviously you need 90 durometer for the ball detent too or it wears out really fast.

The solenoids in these are rock solid. You should have zero issues.
