    Epoxy Dye Two Piece?

I'm hoping someone has some obvious answer I'm missing. I need to know how to epoxy a Dye two piece barrel together. This is a Phantom barrel I got in two pieces but there's just so much play in the point of attachment. Almost 1/8-1/4" as you can see in the photos I took with the lines on the poker table if I pull the tip back and forth on the bottom half. How do you attach these in a way that ensures the bore is straight? Is there a tool, special trick, specific o ring???

One quick-and-dirty method: Wrap a couple of "collars" of something like painter's tape or electrical tape, around the smaller tip. Make it so those 'collars' are the same OD as the back.

Then, screw together two straight chunks of 2x4, to make a sort of trough- kind of like a piece of angle iron (which you could also use.)

Smear on the epoxy, making sure you don't get any inside, side 'em together, and drop it into the 'trough'. It'll self-center and self-align. You might have a couple of small weights on the end to keep them lightly pressed together.

Another option if you have access to a lathe would be to chuck up the tip in the 3-jaw, smear a little epoxy on, then use the tailstock to hold it centered. Slop a the tip/back join could still let that get a little out of whack though...

Epoxy on just the front tip alone will help to prevent epoxy getting pushed inside and onto the bore.

Not familiar with the phantom ultralights but something looks very off on the back half of the tip.

Generally the glued dyes I've pulled apart have a slight flair and two machined in grooves. Yours looks like someone turned down a threaded tip..... That would be considerably thinner

These were made by dye for my local store. They were a decent CCI dealer and people always wanted upgraded barrels. My guess is dye found it easier to mod the proto tips because they weren't selling.

Thanks for the info all. After doing some googling I did hit a thread on <another paintball forum> that says there is an o ring on a Dye tip. I don't have any that fit it and fit into the base. Those threads were suggesting this https://www.mcmaster.com/9262K129/
