I know the OG grey mag and minimag bodies are stainless. If had to guess they are sandblasted for that matt finish. I have a few older loaners that would look allot fresher with a new sandblasting. anyone ever tried this? I have access to a little freestanding unit at a shop next to mine. anyone know the specifics of the factory process?

I sandblasted mine. I don't know the factory specifications but it won't take much. Low pressure and glass beads would probably be best. I used crushed glass and it etched the body a bit but I needed to remove some of the flaking paint and Teflon coating. I lightly sanded the body with automotive sandpaper and it took away the texturing but left it mostly matte. I masked the threads and the interior of the body which probably isn't strictly necessary but I did it to be safe. It was a Minimag so I also rounded off the interior of the vent holes with some emery cloth. It seems to cut fewer barrel orings now.

Ahahaha... This thread just received a DCMA from google.
Apparently I can file a counter notice. I'll do it just for fun to tell them they are idiots to blindly do it. Apparently y'all upset some casino company. I literally couldn't make this up, it is beyond stupid.
Here is the description of the copyright claim:
