    Crown barrels

Are they collectables or should I machine them into freak tips?

They will be collectable after you make a few into freak tips.

Same person is supposed to be making stella tips with them. I'm into it.

Keep in mind, they will ring after every shot.......lol. We used to throw a rubber band on the end to stop it.

O-rings also work instead of rubber bands.

          I liked the ring (ping).

The lower one has raw edges, which would indicate that it was a level 5 barrel that was converted to level 7. That dates it to '92.

I've cut one before to make a cocker adapter. I didn't check the original bore. It turned out that the original was not round, or concentric to the outside. So watch that.

I think the most common length for these were 12in? Right guys?

So if you have a 14inch version or 8 inch version, those would probably be worth a bit more money compared to the common 12in version.

I know there were quite a few individuals who took their barrels to the old lathe and machined the ends off.
They felt the pinging gave their position away easier on the field, but that was back in the old 10 man days.
I believe AGD stopped supplying crown points with the standard markers later on as a cost reduction.

There's so many of these out there, cut away! I had someone cocker-thread one for me way back when.
I'd buy a freak-tip version if they became available again.
