Pump Kit Install Questions

I have a timed and running 2k cocker. All standard internals and a lightning bolt. I have the middle tier inception pump kit. I want to install the kit. Is this a drop in thing or will I need to start rebalancing everything after? Any advice welcome before I get going on this.

It won't change anything in regards to your operating pressures hammer spring etc all you are doing is replacing the automated cocking of the front block manual pump instead

You could just bolt it on and go.

You also could benefit from swapping springs you won’t need as high of pressure for the pump. You could go with a lighter spring setup it will lighten the pump stroke a lil smooth it out and refine it. This will require you to re time and sweet spot the reg. Really easy to do there are lots of YouTube How To Time Tec videos. Autococker parts sells a nice spring kit for like $20 that has every spring you could need.

It’s definitely worth knowing and learning how to swap the springs out. You can really change the way the marker feels to shoot.

Cocker ownership comes with a special kind of PTSD that makes people forget how much hell they’ve put themselves through as soon as they get the thing running and shoot it again. After putting a case through it you’ll have no memory of how much time and money you spent.

If you have a slotted vertical asa then you don’t have to do anything to retime the pneumatics and can freely switch back and forth from pump to semi just by bolting the front block back on

I get It. Not expecting it to ever go back to semi without being timed. I have another autococker so this one will likely stay a pump. There appears to be a decent amount of pump games around here. I was more just curious if I would need to do much once the kit was installed. I'll play with it as is and if I want a different feel I'll grab a spring kit.

Lol. I need to play a day with it before I know if I want to change anything. I'm pretty low maintenance. The gold kit would probably be the way id go. Right now what does bug me is the return spring in the pump handle. I'm used to the pgp that has positive forward lock. With this inception kit there is a
Bout 1/4" of slop where there is no spring tension. May drop something in there to take up the space.

Time 2 Paintball sells a long return spring on EBay. I have one tried it and didn’t like it. But I like a lite return spring personally. You’re welcome to it or any hardware store should have a lil longer one.

So it's all installed. Haven't got a longer spring yet. Have a feeling I need a barrel with a smaller bore. Any recommendations on a good all around size if I'm not going to buy a kit?

I was not able to make it to the pump day in Albany today but did decide to put some paint through my pump today to see how it chronos and how it feels. I want to make it to the next event so this is the time to troubleshoot. She shoots nice, pretty consistent to about 5 bps give or take. Little inefficient. Shot 100 balls ate up about 450 psi. If I hold the pump handle forward it quacks. If I don’t hold the bolt forward it’s a nice quiet shot and no real loss of fps. I imagine sweet spotting the regulator is the first step?

It likely would benefit from a balanced set of springs. By quack you mean the valve is bouncing? That will cause an inefficient shot.

To bad you didn’t make it out to APE today I could have given you a few detent rings that would make that big bore barrel work perfectly, Even with small paint.
