People who have gotten a refund generally have to bug him for about a month to get him to do anything. He will make excuses like he has to send the email over to the return department which is also him just putting it in a certain inbox that he can ignore for a while.

In some cases people have gone to Facebook and started posting on The Bob long pages with their situation this seems to get his attention and he will act more quickly on your refund

well, for better or worse, I don’t really want a refund. The ASA appears to be good. I just need to be able to get a working fitting on it.

I would just prefer not having to fabricate my own solution. I’m already envisioning an adapter/reducer to that smaller POPS fitting thread, but fuuuuuu

When it’s the final aesthetic piece of your pump of Theseus, ~$100 plus a PITA it’s still not bad deal

Just a random thought then and specially because this is a pump have you thought about switching to micro hose instead of macro?

You would still need to figure out whatever thread that actually is but after that an aluminum plug could be inserted and lock tied it into place

I would assume you can get a push connect micro hose fitting thats something smaller than a 1/8 npt so that's what I would do drill the plug for whatever you need it to be and then the other end you can use a normal 1/8 NPT micro push connect

Yeah that has crossed my mind but I hate microline on my personal guns.

I might just collect a bunch of different branded macro fittings and try their colors on the stock fitting body…

Might be easiest to see if Richard will tell you what thread those are. It would make searching much easier

It looks like there may be room on the thread shoulder to put an oring yourself. If not, you could try blue Loctite or thread tape to seal it.

Also, have you tried popping the collar off this fitting and seeing if a standard Norgren collar works? If you're lucky, maybe it'll fit and you won't have to fabricate or source any weird parts.

              I did lol.

Haven’t heard back in a while.

Found a candidate, apparently someone made a male universal 1/8 thread that can jam into NPT or BSPP.
Pretty sure I have ID’d the thread as 1/8 BSPP from the peaks and valleys.

PSI rating isn’t encouraging but a push fitting will probably blowout the collar before exploding, and IIRC most macro fittings have similar “max operating” pressures…

Yeah sealing it to the ASA is no big deal, I literally just need the little effer to grip a piece of hose.

                And yeah that’s gonna be a strategy…

Asked twice for the thread spec, was advised to return the whole ASA again, and then told they don’t know because they don’t have a part drawing…

Asked for them to check the package the fittings arrived in… Probably a problem customer by now but come hell or high water I will get a working fitting

Apparently the macro fitting are too custom for the thread spec to be printed on the package.

Asked for contact info for anyone who would have drawings or specs.

I don’t know if they’ve caught on that I want to take this problem off their plate, but replies are coming back a bit snippier lol.

I remember a similar fitting on my cam drive back in 2008 or so. I don't think it's a recent "design change".

It may be designed for a different hose size, though. 6mm perhaps. Or a different material. Check over the "claw" closely for markings.

I once saw "stem elbow fittings" that were all brass, and pushed into other fittings; these had a groove turned in the stem for the "claw" on the female fitting to grip. An aluminum hardline with grooves in it might work if nothing else does?

First understand that you've been dealing with Richard this whole time there is no "they". He very specifically uses language in his emails to try and indicate that there's multiple people and departments working there.

When I was working for him he almost went out of his way to make sure that he was the only one dealing with customers. He had to act as a middleman whenever I needed to contact a customer about something on a marker I was working on. I was pretty much running the entire physical store location while he did everything for the online dirty works section except for marker repairs.

If he is ordering fittings in bulk I would not be surprised if the thread spec is not on the package but also he should easily know where to get it. If his machine shop is the one supplying the fittings that should also be easily accessed by him

Basically what I think is happening and he's done this multiple times in the past is once he gets your money he no longer feels any need to help you. It seems like he's gotten better about accepting returns but I suspect that's because it's actually less work for him than tracking down the information you need

There's no way he's going to give you that contact information, well not give you it and it'd be accurate anyway. Doing so will mean he has to relinquish control of the situation it seems like it doesn't matter that it's a headache for him relinquishing that control is something he basically never did when I was around. He wouldn't even tell me who he went through to hydro tanks and there's only a few of them in the area

Don't be surprised if his emails get even more snippy. To get my final paycheck out of him I had to take him to court but before all that I sent him multiple messages asking for my paycheck which he promptly ignored or made up an excuse and when I got fed up with it I sent him a certified mail informing him that I would be taking the case to labor and industries.

His response, was also a certified mail claiming that if I take it to L&I that he would have to inform them of all the things I "stole" from the shop and do I really want to risk the case going against me?

Of the things I allegedly stole was a "ninja pro ultralight regulator" an item that as far as I'm aware, has never actually existed.

Needless to say, I was feeling risky so I sure rolled those dice and took that big chance.

He must have misplaced the paperwork for the theft case because I sure have never seen it.
