Nelspot 007 Ball Detent

What is a good ball detent setup for a Nelspot 007? (it does have the removeable barrel)

For preventing rollout you can machine an eclipse detent under the frame

Is it cocker threaded? A freak/ifit insert will work for rollouts. Is an anti double feed necessary with the ramp into the barrel?

Definitely - it doesn't happen every time but my 007 double feeds intermittently. I've Freak-bored it but plan on installing some type of rubber nubbin-style detent to stop the 2x feeds.

Whoa... like the ASP detents for a Phantom?? I never considered that... but I guess it would work?

No, the removal barrel slides on and is held with a set screw.

What about making a set of different ID?
Or make a sleeve to fit freak insert?

Removeable barrel in this instance is a little misleading. It's mainly a sleeve that slides over the inner barrel that allowed for extensions. Reducing the ID would be a no go. Something like the ASP mod for Phantoms would be the best bet without a LOT of custom work. I believe Doc offers it (making the 007 cocker threaded that is)

I just stack tiny pieces of electrical tape where the ball sits in the barrel to prevent roll outs. Hasn’t failed me yet

I always see this suggested but every time I try, I just shoot the electrical tape out on the first or second shot.

The barrel has to be completely oil free and dry. Electrical tape is pretty sticky so it’s shouldn’t shoot out if it’s adhering

How about a drip of hot glue, the kind that dries to a softer rubbery texture.

Too thick and won’t stick to metal. Plus if it’s not flat you’re going to add spin

The body tube is too thick, I think. I've had trouble adapting that style of detent to anything other than stock Sheridan barrel tube.

I've made some 3d printed one that looks like the spider/ego ones, but held in place like the Palmer's. They work great 👍
