    Seized autococker ball detent

    I bought a cheap Trilogy cocker earlier this week and as part of my rebuild found that the ball detent was sticking in the retracted position. Adding some oil helped for a bit but after test-firing the gun the bearing is now totally locked down. I squired some WD-40 on it overnight but this hasn't helped.

    I had a spare detent to get the gun running, but are there some good methods to salvaging this one?

    I threw mine in a cup with some liquid dawn. Then just pinch the detent a few times and work the soapy mess inside.

    Work it for a while and you'll loosen up old bits of paint and shell

      I've had a similar experience with the same style detent. Got it unstuck only for it to get stuck again. Just toss it. Actually, that's how I got mine unstuck for a short amount of time! But then it jammed again. Or drill a small hole in the back to you can poke it out.

        I tried rubbing alcohol and it seemed to help a little bit. I was planning on trying a simple green soak since its a mild acid.

        If that doesn't work I'm going to drill a 1/8 hole in the back side.

          1/8 would likely be larger than the diameter of the spring

            I always just drill a small hole in the back and knock them free.
