    CCM S5 config questions

So from the collective minds of CCM aficionados here in MCB I have a couple of S5 configurations questions:
    • Were there any CCM S5 that were not Slab Sided (pump arm milling on the passenger side of the body)?
    • Were there any CCM S5 that were Mini?
There is a guy asking for $$$ value on an "S5" that is a Mini and has pump arm milling on the passenger side (not Slab sided). I have owned a few S5 over the years and all were full slab bodied and I have never seen one that wasn't. Even did some images searches and I can not find an example of either on an S5. He states it is an early S5 but the Trigger Fame is a later 86' CCM frame and the body is round topped and early S5 bodies had sight rails behind the CF.

Then that might be an ss25

I thought that as well but don't all SS25 have a Slab sided body as well? I think the guy honestly believes he has an S5 but he got it 2nd hand after supposedly it being an Autococker version turned into a pump. SS25 are 11/16 valves if I remember correctly?

      Yeah they were 11/16.

There's a fair amount of "employee" guns out there. Body designs that either CCM employees made or test/one-offs that never went full production. Or stuff Bill might've just pieced together and sold on the FB group.

    Stuff like this or this.

Or the triangle bodies Wooulf was selling

    All milled from S5-style blanks

A pic of the gun would probably help us.

Unless it was a special request the S5 were only cut for a pump arm on one side. However when they were prototyping different back blocks there is a possibility they cut a S5 fit a 2nd pump arm.

My guess is it’s an SS25 but without seeing it I’m not sure. Easiest way to tell would be the valve size. Unless it was an SS25 prototype that they cut a S5 body to SS25 spec.

My J series body I have is cut on an S6 blank it was done for one of the employees. So there are definitely some anomalies when it comes to CCM.

The body does not have a serial number on it under the trigger frame. It does have a wire detent but I have other non-CCM bodies with wire detents so no guarantee there.

I did ask about valve size not gotten an answer on that yet.

            That’s an SS-25 100% it’s 11/16th valve.

Likely an early run. (Wire detent, machined in feedneck mount) it’s had some parts swapped out but that’s an early SS-25 body for sure.

Looks like a NoPro feedneck with an aftermarket clamp.

Asa is different and likely a PE SL3 reg. Missing the AT as well. Not sure about the cocking rod but it’s got the nice aluminum backed bolt that came with them. Those are my favorite grip panels for the 86* frame to. The hit man plate might be aftermarket as well. I forget who made those but I don’t think it was CCM,

Earlier SS25 it looks like. Very cool. On a somewhat related note, I spoke to a gentleman about a preproduction CCM marker he acquired in a lot and it's one of the coolest things ever. All customized from a WGP right feed body and Benchmark frame. Hoping he wants to part with it someday soon.

That is how I found out about CCM seeing an Autococker modified by them at IAO one year. Then I found out about their pump kits and I had to have one. Still have it on my old trusty Sniper II.

Well the valve is a 9/16 valve in that body. I assume the SS25 is milled from the same blank as the S5 just bored out to 11/16 and mini-ed? If this is a CCM body it looks like a one off/employee/prototype.

                  I stand corrected it’s cut from a S5 blank.

That’s a mini S5. people are just making stuff up now. Nothing about it says ss25. Ccm gun fuddlore is getting worst than proflex parts at this point 😑 keep in mind ccm made the mini works autocockers so it’s not like a round body mini wouldnt be something they had lying around

I think he dose I always thought it was a SS25 my old “ss25” had a wire detent as well. I bought it used cleand the lowers but never pulled the valve I wonder if mine was a mini S5 as well. Looked just like the one the OP posted.

"That is a modified S5 body. The mod was remove the rail on top of the body. Nothing special." I asked Bill about mine last year. I will ask about the mini mod. 9/16 valve, ball on ball accuracy out of this one.

thinking about this some more i wonder if it wasnt a prototype for the ss-25. Would make since that i was cut from a s5 body.
