Hey guys, new member here, I just acquired a pristine Montneel Mega Z, since no one close to me fills co2 anymore I was wondering/looking for another valve for it, maybe an hpa valve(?). I'm not sure if these ever became available and was wondering what you all thought? Thank you.

The "HPA valve" was simply adding more volume to the valve chamber.
The gun, originally, actually had a bit too little volume even for gas CO2 use, and was found to work much better on liquid- same as the SMG and .68 Special.
The HPA valve was really just an 'expansion chamber' that went in place of the tiny tube from the vertical ASA and the valve. There is really no other easy way to add volume to the gun. Between that and fitting a barrel that better fits the size of the paint- the stock barrels tend toward .691 to .693"- you can usually get decent field velocities.
I've been looking into making some external chambers, but haven't come up with a clean and easy way to do so.

Can you just add more pressure? Like a SHP reg.
I did this with the Hammer 7 Fed it 1200psi and even with the massive flat bottom bolt that just blew half your pew into the mags it shot 285.Comment

Additional pressure is generally counterproductive on a poppet valve. The extra pressure acts as a heavier valvespring, making it harder for the hammer to pop it open.
I can recall we tried feeding a PGP with an early adjustable HPA system, years ago- I think getting it up to about 1,100 PSI. And the velocity was actually lower than it was at 800-900 (normal CO2 pressures.) I seem to recall the best velocity we got was at about 750 PSI.

Welding, restaurant and industrial gas suppliers will fill co2, but not likely to have the adapter needed to fill a pin valve. But, worth a call. Some sporting goods store will fill, as well as some scuba shops and hardware stores. Locally, "plant" growing shops have been filling co2 tanks. But what I ended up doing is just getting a 20lb bulk co2 tank. You will find tons of places that do exchange programs like with propane tanks. When its empty, return it, and they give you a full one. You will need to get a fill station or build your own. and its generally best to get a siphon bulk tank, though you can fill tanks with a non-siphon.
I know thats all a pain. The industry made a hard shift away from co2. Partially for good reasons as it reduces fps spikes in the summer, and equipment troubles in the winter. Most modern guns can't run co2. But usually its just because HPA is accepted enough that fields don't want to pay for the extra staff and equipment for co2. But for me, using liquid co2 has been part of the fun. I love the cloud and frosting. I love the simplicity of it, and the fact that it because a "lost art" that modern players do not believe such a thing even existed.
That said, it shouldnt be too hard to fab up an LPC. Back in the day, there were 2 on the market. The NitroZ, and the NeelyZ. Both added an LPC and gutted out the valve. You can see below.

-It's certainly worth a call, but I'd caution you about getting your hopes up. Most of the places Lovecraft mentioned, will rent you a tank- generally a 20-pounder, that people commonly use for Kegerators or grow operations, but not that many will fill a smaller tank for you. (If you have a buddy with one of those, a fill station or adapter can be had relatively inexpensively, and you might be able to convince him to loan you a pound or so.
)
A couple of alternatives would be any place that services fire extinguishers, or anyone who offers "dry ice".

This idea is not the most economical , nor is it ideal for a Montneel gun since you need liquid co2, but this might be a convenient solution for co2 users since so many people are into making their own carbonated soda.......
get palmers adapter:
https://palmerspursuit.com/collectio...refill-adapter
then buy a sodastream initial bottle, then use their exchange program for the refills

You'll need to keep an eye out for a California style paintball T-Stock with the tank rings, or you could pick up a basic T stock and then fashion your own clamps of some kind
