Trbo323 thanks! Definitely agree it should be something stupid simple or very difficult. Twins apart my fair share of markers. Regs always seem to be a pain though. I feel like it’s an issue with the o-ring in the groove. I try to seat it, but I think I need to have it pressed down more firmly so it does not pop.

I’ve tried to zero the reg to air it up, without luck. Using a 13/3000 tank to feed, so say 700-850 output. Using a reg to feed the reg is a great idea so I can try that.

For the 007 oring I use an appropriate sized Allen key to hold it up in there while I press the piston through. The piston hits the Allen key and I just push it through minus the key after. The groove in your reg seat is really deep. How is the bottom of the piston on the reg seat side? In the pics it looks really chewed up.

One thing you can try to make sure the reg seat is actually bottoming out (i.e. should output zero pressure) is removing the large piston oring, the small 007 we're talking about, and the shims and then assemble. When you screw the adjuster in all the way, the piston should not rattle in the reg body.

Double check the o-ring and it’s the proper 007. Have swapped several out, all have the same issue. Removes the washers. In the reg, bottomed in out and it still blew as well. I’m going to surmise that the may be a reason this things is in as good of shape and comes with the original box and goodies. Think the reg has been messed for a while. Now if all my WGP regs didn’t need rebuilds I’d toss one on and see if the rest of the rebuild worked.

And my WGP is seized and I can’t get the damn thing apart…. Sigh…. If only they put some wrench flats on these regs.
