Emag only shoots in e mode?

I have an sfl emag with a long removed battery that's dead that doesn't shoot as a mech regardless of where the selection switch is.....

I'm hardly a mag person am I missing something obvious?

It didn't work even when it worked as an electric gun.

When it's aired up, what's the gap between the back of the trigger and the trigger rod?

But I can't remember if it's supposed to be the standard Mag "credit card" thickness or something else for E/X-Mags. It's been too long since I had one. superman or tunaman5 should be able to help with this.

When you put air, what is the gap between the trigger and sear rod?

This is a very common problem that goes unnoticed alot. I have done it myself more than once.
