So I've been kicking around the idea of doing a simple Spyder build for a while, and I think I found the body that has the exact features I want, which is the Spyder Aggressor XT. Conveniently enough, I might have the opportunity to snag one. That said, one of the quirks about the Aggressor is that the body is not threaded up front, the front plug mounts the same way a traditional spyder front block does. To my knowledge, it's the only one that does this while also having a 1/8NPT port for the hose (or VASA). I'd like to put a volumizer on it and go low pressure, but to my knowledge all the spyder volumizers are threaded. Am I SOL here? In all fairness, because it doesn't have a front block there's already much more volume in the dump chamber than most spyders, so I might not even need one.
Spyder non threaded volumizer?

Or if you have a caliper and someone can measure this guy:

You also need to keep in mind that Aggressor front plug has a post on it for the valve spring. You will need to make sure the custom LPC has a shoulder to hold the spring. You would also have to make sure that locates the spring correctly so you can use a normal spyder (long or short depending on design) valve springComment

Could you plug the hole for the hose and put on a standard asa threads accepting front block?Comment

I've thought of something like this before. Kit makes a horizontal adapter that you could use for this scenario. Get a gas through grip or the like and use it, plugged, in the horizontal adapter. Run your air line or VA in the factory air line location.Comment

That defies the whole point of using the aggressor body. I want to not have a front block.
Ooh, that's not a bad idea at all. The store has a first gen Zenith that's had parts pulled off of it, I could easily take the Zero kit off and see if it works.Comment

That zero kit would be a great idea! Curious if it’s a drop in kit for a spyder (or minor mod-to-fit like the VS valve mods).
OR you could get a one-off ridiculously long custom LPC made. Like one that is the same length as the barrel... you know, because MCB.Comment

In fairness I didn't say that specifically. The aggressor is both vert feed and doesn't have a front block, and to my knowledge is the only older spyder body like that. That's the reason I want to use it. I'm going to try and track down one of those flush cocking bolts that the Javas had so I can ditch the beavertail, and get a Bob Long single trigger frame. I'd like to run it on low/mid pressure, hence the thread, but like I said with the lack of a front block it might already have enough volume.Comment

Look for Spyder 2000's, not Compact 2000's, for the flush cocking bolts.Last edited by scottieb; 01-24-2021, 08:33 PM.Comment
