Hi I just picked up an Apex barrel and the thing was covered in camo tape. I took the tape off but all the adhesive is still on the barrel. What's the best adhesive remover?

I've used brake cleaner in the past, with a toothbrush or similar scrubbing tool with soft bristles.

Ditto, brake cleaner has worked best for me when acetone or alcohol have failed.

Interesting brake cleaner would work where straight acetone failed. Brake cleaner’s primary chemical is acetone. Also if it is painted, you don’t want to go vigorously with acetone. It will eat through clear coat and paint if you use too much or rub the coated area too much.

I find that Goo Gone gel, plus ten minutes, is way better than goo gone and not waiting.
I have this citrus oil stuff called "contractor's friend" that's awesome on tape, too.Feedback

I have used this many times to remove old adhesives. I know it says air freshener but it come out very wet and a lot of orange oil. Has never peeled paint on me.
