Best way to prevent tarnish on brass parts

Any tips and tricks or recommendations for preventing tarnish on brass parts?

Trying to maintain that nice shine on the brass parts of my phantom without having to rub the tarnish buildup off all the time.

Any mild acid can be used to prematurely petina brass. In particular white vinegar in a spritz bottle to help get a mottled look. Yellow mustard the basic cheap kind works real well too. You can use mustard to paint on in various patterns then spritz down with white vinegar to get interesting results. If you tightly wrap parts with mesh and apply mustard you can get "scale-like" appearance.

Carnuba wax, Clear Polyurethane spray. Just embrace the polishing time.

I used auto wenol which is a polish with a wax component for protecting. It held up better than pure polishes.

Spray clear coat probably longer lasting but uglier as it falls apart.
