My attendance is in limbo; my mama turned 70 and we're doing a birthday thing for her that weekend. At the very least I will swing by on Saturday to say hi to folks, pass off parts, pinch Riot 's fanny, etc.

You would love all the improvements APE did recently. I might try and put a SC day together at APE next year if things calm down with my job. I really enjoyed those games

Sorry guys! I was hoping to be doing a lot more promotion for this event, but I've been really busy with family stuff and am currently working on an unrelated project for Adventure Games that has been taking up all my time.

I'd like to ask all of you to help spread the word and try to recruit as many other players as you can. Getting new players to attend and enjoy these events is the only way to keep stock-class alive. Currently, we have no real industry support. None of the known paintball "influencers" have made any effort to mention stock-class and the usual online 'buzz" that normally precedes these events is at an all time low. Obviously, the current economic situation is also a factor, but may also be an opportunity to get some mainstream players to try stock-class simply because it's a less expensive alternative to mainstream play.

I've made promoting stock-class my mission over the past few decades, but one person can only do so much. Please do whatever you can to introduce new players to the format by promoting the skill, sportsmanship and camaraderie that is the hallmark of stock-class play. Each and every one of us thrives on intentionally handicapping ourselves with equipment that is far more difficult to use than today's markers in order to be more accurate and agile. This handicap increases our skill level and makes us all better players AND is fun as hell, AND is comparatively affordable. Use these facts to entice new players into the format. If we don't get some new blood in here soon, playing stock-class paintball is going to be reduced to playing paintball with a stock-class marker once again, and personally I always thought that sucked.

Many of you have stated that you hate Facebook and social media. Unfortunately, after the MCB hack, many older members never returned and have drifted over to Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, etc. Like it or not, there is a strong community of active SC players on all these platforms and limiting your activity to only MCB won't help grow the format. While I'm no fan of FB, I do see the value of engaging with other SC players there in order to help grow the format. Just some food for thought.
