Anyone want to go halvsies on a bag of FSR for Sunday? I wonāt use close to 150 of those gold-plated zoomdots.Comment
-
I feel like Iām the opposite, may not use 500 roundball but I feel like I can shoot 150 FSR -
Iām playing both. Roundball marker with the Single Shot on my hip for FSR.
Edit: of course, if things get rough, Iāll probably play with just the single shot and urban scavenge FSRs -
Im your guy, need 150 first strikes and maybe half case ball.

Im just shooting First Strikes so if you just need a few you can take some of mine. Iām going to be hand loading them one at a time slaying fools you guys flush out and distract. Iām starting with a bag and will buy them as needed.Comment

Apart from some asshole players the last couple games, I felt like the games ran well. First strikes were a nice change of pace in this seasons games. Might be fun to organize one of our own fsr/magfed/pump games in the future and to get games rolling faster lol1 PhotoComment

- Long delay in between games
- Gun shots didn't count
- Shields
- Lazy refs
- Tryhards
- Overshooting
- Not calling hits
- Not chronoing
Narrative synopsis:
As always, thanks to all who joined in for some good old fashioned dress up, I mean paintball. All in all, I had a fun time. I had never been to Liberty Paintball before, but I would go again. The facilities are nice, they have a ton of staging inside and out, and the fields were fun to play. I didn't shoot any roundball, but the FSR were shooting well, albeit a bit bouncy. I think it would be a fun field for a private pump/limited paint game.
We had a few incidents with players shooting hot, playing on, and overshooting, but I think more often than not people were playing to the objective and playing fairly. My understanding is that the normal patrons at Liberty are known for this kind of behavior, so it very well could have been more about the field community than the 1SOK crew. FWIW, I've played with a bunch of the regular magfed guys and they have been fun to play with and friendly.
Personally, I have a huge issue with not counting gun hits, especially if you're going to allow shields in game. I think a lot of the issues that arise from magfed play is from the vague interpretation of the rules and I think not counting gun hits contributes to this. Additionally, I think if the reffing staff was more engaged the games would have been more fun and ran smoother. Standing on the tape line watching an eliminated player mag dump into another player walking off and doing NOTHING? That's just shitty reffing man. After lunch the refs told everyone to chrono, but anecdotally I only really saw our crew at the chrono station and they definitely didn't enforce it. We heard a player getting pulled for a field chrono of over 315 fps in the last game, so there was definitely some shenanigans going on velocity-wise.
I had fun, and I would consider going again, but this field and this crew is definitely one to be aware of prior to joining an event.
Be nice, have fun.

To add to Jonnyās synopsis -
I played with a handful of those MagFed guys (I think MagFed Monsters and some others) the next weekend at CCZ. I was the only non-MagFed player there and had a blast with them. It was an entirely different day. I also overheard a few of the with the same ācomplaintsā that we had.
Agreed, Liberty was a neat field with nice facilities and even indoor bathrooms, but I think if I were to go back, itād be for a private game where we all follow the golden ruleā¦donāt be an A-hole -
Lots of āGet the F@#K out guysā Meh. I like FS and playing magfed. I just despise the type of players it attracts. I honestly think most of the issues are part of that fields culture. The few walk on games I played on the lunch break were the same type of players. Itās a pain or play type of field. I think thatās why they were actively trying to hurt each other. Definitely Not my kind of paintball, but I did have fun. -
I played and had fun as it was my first time. Definitely not my preferred way of battling but i will definitely be trying again locally at ccz at the end of the month. Weāll see if this crowd is better. I could use a slingshot and fsr rounds and always have fun playing with my friends .
