Why doesn't anyone use tank covers, anymore?

I am also rejoining the community after 15ish years away and yeah no one has tank covers any more. They all use tape or the rubber undies. not really sure how I feel about this change.

Ive gone back and forth between old nxe tank covers and hockey tape over the years.

I'd run a cover on my 13ci tanks if I could find one. Tape works well enough though.

This also confused the hell out of me, I played from 06-08/09 then got back into it around 2018 or so. I run all pump markers, but when I got my wife a 45/4500 tank for her emek it was quite jarring how hard it was to find a cover for her tank.

There's some good points in this thread, especially about pros boy using them for the sake of wiping and shops/rec players blindly following suit

When you have skulls laser engraving, skulls grip panels, and skulls loader, you have to add a skulls tank cover and a skulls barrel sock.

behold, a valken small (45ci) tank cover on a ninja SL2 4500.. there's not much stretch on the fabric but theres a printed pattern inside, and that sticks to the bottle just fine.. thats with an extended ninja pro 3 reg
sized up against one of the mythical 17.5ci with a ninja 3k reg
the 17.5 is a hair longer..but only by a little

nice, diy option i came up with last night. cut up some Old, neoprene camo gloves, with hockey tape on both ends so the butt (haha) still grips (hahaha). tanks is the hk army 36/4500, i didnt even bother looking for a cover in this teeny size.
