Decided to try pump milling a classic rail this weekend and happy to say i did it right and got the pump mag shooting

Wasn't too bad, really just comes down to having the right tooling to get the result you want. I used an old manual knee mill to make the cut. you have to angle the rail at 30 degrees for making the cut and a little over 3 inches into the cut you have to cut 2 angled ramps for the pump rod to hit and angle up onto the bolt to recock the mag. Cutting the straight channel isnt too hard, that ramp though was a pain, I found it easier to just use a dremel than trying to manipulate my mill/vise angles to try and cut it
