    Evo vs STO Bolt Clarity

I just wanted to bring some clarity to the many years of discussion about Evo bolts being the same as STO bolts and visa versa. They are NOT the same!

I recently visited with Jarrod of AKA Paintball and I brought up the subject of needing a Evo bolt for my STO Autococker. He told me to hold off on that request as there is a difference between a proper STO bolt and the EVO. I snapped a picture of his Evo Bolt on the left and STO Bolt on the right.

He might have some STO Lightening Bolts in the works so stay tuned .

This thread made me look at my bolts and I found an EVO bolt, I don't have an EVO-bolt-length gun... hmm

I think my point was though they obv work” , it wasn’t that they are great. It will be good if we can get something at some point that is actually meant for it and is spec though. That will be great!

I remember hearing this years ago, and maintained it as truth. I was later "proven" wrong here on MCB a couple years ago. And now it looks like I'm proven wrong again lol.

Meh, they're the same. Put either one of those bolts in and the marker will shoot the exact same. The hole in the bolt, and especially the o-rings, are significantly larger than the hole in the body that the air is coming from. A 1mm difference in breech position doesn't matter.
          Prove me wrong.

Use a Shocktech SFL length bolt for the win on the twister bodies...

The lengths are where the bolt pin is placed not the valve opening length

I was under this impression as well. An proper STO bolt wouldn't fit into a Evo due to the pull pin hole not lining up, right? But that would still cause an Evo length bolt to sit farther back in an STO, causing a slight misalignment between the bolt and valve.
              Working...
