    Halfblocking my prostock pump

Debating on half blocking my prostock pump and had a few questions for those who have done this. Is this all I would need after the cut its done?

    SSC Halfblock Kit
    https://stanchy.com/products/ssc-hal...dR9vopUBR35q1a _O8JIWiftmvwQ3STjD

    Autococker Pump Arm 7" inch
AutocockerParts.com has The Largest selection of Autococker Parts and Gat Pump Kits online.

Lastly is there a specific person you all would recommend to perform the half block cut?
I'm leaning towards Mozak Machine, but just curious if there are any better options.

You would also need a half block hammer, sled and half block bolt.

Yeah a hammer would be needed as well. Inception has a universal one.

Be adventurous, do the cutting yourself!

Haha I wouldn’t trust myself doing it and would most likely wind up messing it up altogether

Mozak, Bearded work superman and BMC would be the first guys I would reach out.
DocsMachine would be good too but might take a little longer since he seem really busy currently.

Which year prostock is it? Pictures?
On 2k3 and 2k4 I prefer the look of them midblock milled
2k1, 2k2 and 2k5 look good halfblock milled

half block, the bolt is contained by a metal ring of some sort (S6.5) a mid block is just a sled moving the pin (Resurrection/Sniper)

I can do it. I also have inception hammers in stock and most other parts.
One thing I would mention is that if you're looking to have it cut, make sure it is cut for ccm slot. Not everyone cuts the half block cut the same. Though I think most are cutting to staunchys ccm spec he had on his website.

Would you be able to provide everything after the cut as well? I would need the bolt, sled, and pump arm as well

I don't have pump kits on hand, but i do have inception midblock bolts, inception hammers and other bits. Just let me know what you need. Feel free to pm me or email me.

Considered a mid block instead of a half block?

I had a bit of an advantage because the 2k5 body already has space between the tubes but I've always liked mid blocks over half blocks. Less reciprocating mass and I think they just look better

smoother operation and no binding as the bolt still moves within the body as well

Yeah midblock for the win, halfblocks are great for DIY, but if you can take the time/money to midblock, then imo they definitely look better.

Other option would be to send it to Mozak for a custom cut.

Do mid blocks and half blocks use the same length bolt?

          Comment

            #12
Typically yes. You can play with the length on the half blocks a bit because the block itself does not necessarily need to be the same length. But the bolt pin is always in the same spot and that is basically what you are trying to connect the pump arm to

Remember, on an halfblock and midblock the bolt pin is the one pushing the hammer back. So even if the bold length is not that critical, it need to match the opening length in the body and work with the hammer groove.
Hammer groove length might be more important.

Which hammer are you planning to use?
