Sorry about the dim photo. Took it in my car (obviously). But I finally have the fit up perfect, so now just to file one more groove to be able to access the top barrel pin and give it a paint job. Don't know if I've already mentioned it, but the gun itself got a satin black paint job and the nerf shrouding will be flat Spanish moss.

Oh, by the way, the groove in the nerf plastic up top gets a little door in it. The barrel, door, and old battery cover are getting painted in flat iron

Here's the access door from the nerf gun that'll cover my paintball feed. Started out plain grey plastic. The rest of the nerf plastics just got a coat of prime this morning

Took some metal rod and made a "U pin" to replace the original plastic pins. Loving it already

So, a huge milestone has been reached. Still more to do, but this is all painted, fitted, and works beautifully. Let me know what y'all think. I'm eager for comments or suggestions.

That's cool! Has the overall shape of an AK receiver. If you put that distinctive front sight riser on it would REALLY look like one.

Hmmm..... That's a really interesting assessment... Hadn't thought about that. Kinda does have an AK look to it

It is coming together pretty nicely, but after it's all done and "battle tested," it's getting an adapter and a 20" barrel. That'll really tie it together

Here it is sort of mocked up. Holding it together with my hand. The new handle is kind of semi-attached.
