    Now it's a Samurai.....

Does anyone have a pic of the inside of a Samurai?

I'm baffled by how the two springs and sear and trigger are orientated. It sprung apart on me when I opened it, and now I'm not sure where they go exactly.

    The online "diagrams" are useless.

There used to be an online group called Samurai Assalt Force (SAF), see if you can revive them through the web archive, I think they had some more detailed instructions.

Can't seem to find anything on it. Appreciate the tip though.

This is what i'm looking at. Not sure how to orientate that sear, nothing seems to look right or catch, or those two springs.
It was completely seized up otherwise I'd have never cracked it open.

    "What could go wrong?"

Looks like the only reasonable way to mount them, but It would not cock, and then the charging handle decided to snap. I wanted to do something like the second pic. But at least I got a stubby Cocker barrel Click image for larger version

I broke out one of my Samurai, to see if I could get you a picture. It was seized and not working. So, I rebuilt it. What a huge PIA. The engineer who designed this should be beat to death with it. It's running now, but Holey Crap what a pain to sevice.

Ah, thank you. looks like I was on the right track there. Appreciate it.
Now I wonder if the reason it wouldn't cock back fully is the charging handle was giving way and flexing.

Does the bolt slide freely on the air tube? Mine was stuck in place by corrosion on the air tube. I had to drive the bolt assembly back with a rod and hammer, to get the cocking handle back far enough to disassemble the shell.

It was completely seized. I had to take it out to free it up, and sanded the corrosion off so that it would slide free.
I did the same, a wood dowel to get the bolt to move initially, so that I COULD take it apart.
          What a wonderfully crappy design.

Here is a link to Samurai Assault Force: https://web.archive.org/web/20030810...ex_frames.html

Interestingly enough, looks like it was first set up in 2000. That's a bit earlier than I remember Samurais appearing, but it must be my memory playing tricks with me.

I wonder if they were ever tempted to call this thing the "Stingray III".

There was talk of Stingray III, but I wonder if this was more Eagle 68 refined. Samurais disappeared with the Aegis series of markers.
