Gas-through Phantom interest?

New product design - a gas-through kit for a Phantom, that uses an Emek ASA (allowing you to choose POPS or standard).

Zero externally visible hoses, fittings, notches, etc., just a mounting block and ASA on the bottom, and internal machining and fittings.

Initial estimates, it looks like about $125 with the machining done, or $60 for just the hardware (supplying your own .45 frame Phantom and EMEK ASA).

Who would be interested?

I also designed a version use the CCI bottomline ASA, but it seems like people like on-offs now, so I went this route. Who would want CCI bottomlines instead?

A couple fittings, hose, screws, 015 o-rings, the Emek to inline screws adapter for the bottom of the frame, and a widget that routes the air from the Emek ASA into the frame itself.

I'd supply engineering drawings and paper templates to show where to drill holes and where to mill the slot on the body. It's two holes in the .45 frame, one tapped hole in the valve body, and one hole in the trigger block. The body needs a hole on the bottom, then the sear slot widened from that hole to the back of the body, to slip around the fitting in the valve body. Doable with a Dremel or files if someone doesn't want to go through the trouble of using a router jig or mill, but wants to do it at home.

Full disclosure, I'll be making jigs to allow me to do the work with a drill press and a trim router with a pattern bit, as I don't have a mill. I picked up a spare Phantom to make sure I can do it perfectly twice (my main shooter, and the spare) before I charge people; the parts that need real precision are getting batched at a machine shop, though.

Also, cad/STL of the drill guide would allow 3D printing of the guides (that what I would do from the drawings).

I could do an STEP of the jigs. A single 10-32 screw would plug the valve body, allowing it to go back to "normal".

Probably. I might need it in advance to do some measurements, but I assume it's very similar in the areasit needs to be. The biggest challenge might be the threads on the bottom - they have four holes, right? Just need to figure out which to use.

I already have a (very well done) gas through grip Phantom…but I have a spare EMEK POPS asa, and I would like to convert my 45 grip gas through to a CCM 86 grip I have.

I'd be interested for sure especially for my Spring Fed Phantom that I use a Micro-CA with. It currently runs out the front of the ASA to the VASA setup but this would eliminate all of that making it even cleaner.

I don’t know if you have the room to Channel the air on a RTR slider like you do on a CCI frame due to the trigger design. Not as much room on the RTR slider.

Yep, absolutely need a week with the frame or a full CAD file to check clearances first.
