I’m thinking of I just put the sealing disk with some Dow 33 over the hole and hold it in place with my 86* frame It should do the trick. Worst case I will get a rubber strip or something to seal the hole. I could always permanently tap and plug it too.

I never would have dreamed they would have made the vertical ASA hose-less as well. I would have expected them to just focus on the bottomline and made it compatible with EMek ASAs.

So I got a response to my inquiry about the gas threw frame, and now I'm super excited to get this thing. (3 days out according to tracking info)

How dose it handle 12g play?

It will be the same as it has been. We wanted to reduce how much volume was wasted, so the air passages are as small as possible while still being able to retain a quick recharge rate. There is obviously more volume in air passages than before, but as little as possible. We used 007 Urethane orings to seal them up, so it will run Co2 with no issues.

Can I remove the ASA I’m not using and just plug the port?

The air ports on the front of the trigger frame, and the bottom where the grip mounts are both threaded. Either of those can be plugged up and allow you to remove the VA adapter for a cleaner look, or allow you to block the air flow out the grip and allow you to use a T-Stock. The plug system just makes for quick changing without needing any tools.

Can I get a True hose less VSC and still use my stock?

Yes, just plug the bottom of the trigger frame with the provided grub screw and you are all set.

I would like to get a true gas’s threw VSC while still retaining the use of my 86* frame and stock setup.

I have installed one of my CCM 86 frames, and due to the changes required to the back of the trigger frame, it does still fit, but it is just slightly back further from flush at the back of the frame. A very small/subtle "beavertail" type of look.

I will post photos when I get it...

Poor 'The Phantom Revolution', not only were you left behind, but the title of Phantom 2.0 falls to an air-through conversion kit.

Just got the 2.0 gas threw frame fitted up. It’s super cool! Comes with a supplied plug so both ports can be plugged to clean up the look. Or you can use it as is, or both the Vert and Grip frame air channels can be plugged individually. They are also pre threaded. I posted some pictures from behind the marker. It really cleans up your line of sight down the right side without the Line in the way. Still haven’t put air to it yet but over all I would say it’s definitely worth the upgrade. You got to figure on a new build $300 replaces your VSC kit trigger and grip frame. It also adds a nice clean feature. I think they did great with it. Curious how it will affect my efficiency numbers for Stock Class play. Im going to do some testing Monday when I’m off.

This is a really cool product, closer to what you’d expect from a limited run aftermarket item than the OEM. I…may get one, not sure yet…

I do wonder if it makes good business sense to keep driving up the price of a base Phantom. This grip frame is $300. Almost exactly four years ago I bought an entire brand new Phantom for $325. That’s a meteoric rise in the kind of financial outlay associated with Phantom ownership. The 2.0 breach is triple the cost of the old one despite the only difference being two more holes added to it.

For CCM money there are actual CCM guns…at this rate you’ll be able to buy a Freeflow cocker for what what a Phantom costs. The industry’s most famous entry-level pump is heading towards four digit pricing.

Short sighted because the 2.0 kit replaces a good portion of the marker. For instance you are getting a VSC kit, trigger group, 45 frame and a bottom line kit. It’s not going to add $300 to a new build and it’s also an option you don’t have to take.

Most CCMs I see listed are closer to 2k right now.

The 2.0 Kit replaces the following parts on a new build.

                      Phantom Trigger Frame Assembly $84.99
                      Phantom Valve Body $27.99
                      Vertical Air Adapter w/Screws $24.99
                      Compression Hardline Kit Nickle $29.99
                      45 Aluminum Grip Frame w/ Screw $34.99
45 Frame Air Adapter ASA $34.99
                      Stainless Hose 7 Inch $19.99
                      Air Adapter Reducer $14.99
                      __________________________________

                      $272.92 Value

So for less then $30 ($26.98) you can get the 2.0 gas threw kit upgrade assuming you want all the features provides in the new kit. I think they did extremely well on it and it's right in line with current prices and value for your money. I haven't tested efficiency numbers or reliability yet but on face value it's a dam good deal and a worthy upgrade for the Phantom line. I also like that they offered it as a kit, for existing customers and not just for new builds.

Nice gimmick, but I can't see any reason to spend the money. No performance gain that I can see....

However, it does provide some more (different) failure points and leak possibilities. So I guess that's a good thing?

Last time I spent that much on a Phantom, I got the whole kit:
