    Not sure if people know, but you can almost build a Revolution from the parts available from EV

        Oh no… if you can build a Rev from parts…. I suspect it wont be long before there are a few more out there in the world. I’m willing to do my part. Thoughts and prayers for my wallet.

                I contemplated if this knowledge should be known, but the more the merrier! Of note, per Jesse, what is listed is what is listed, no secret boxes or anything in regards to Revolution parts.

                This post is a long one:

                Why this is a bad idea:
                Revolutions have a couple known faults:
                They are loud, especially without a ball, think like 0.22 loud.
                They are hard on paint, they run high pressure and can break balls especially with an undersized breech if you are trying to prevent roll outs.
                They can double feed, cocker detents can be added by a machinist, not sure how bad a problem this is first hand yet
                They are air hungry.
                They are not supported anymore.
                They have a break in period, think a couple thousand cycles on the pump mechanism before it starts getting smooth

                Why this is a great idea:
                That pump stroke (once broken in) is butter smooth, my favorite by far. If you can get comfortable with the finger pump you can run one spring and make it super duper light
                Oddity, have yet to see one at the field
                Heritage? It is super cool to see the next evolution or the planned evolution. Tweaked, refined, and tuned you can get a feeling that this thing really could have stepped in to challenge a phantom (challenge not beat ).
                A little frankensteining away from making a semi if so inclined

                Cost:
                This is not cheap. Factor in at least $500. Depending on how many breech inserts and configuration and what parts you have to buy that could balloon to double. Price wise surprisingly comparable to a new phantom especially a 2.0 and somewhat comparable to what I paid for my fully match anodized built by CCI Revolution. Depending on configuration you could build a bare bones marker with the m16 frame and side saddle reg or a regulated air tank setup and be around $500, that would be no gauge on back, long macro line, regulated from the tank, only the finger pump etc. As pictured and if purchased all new in one order I think mine would be around $800 (AKA reg, on/off with bleed, 3D printed aftermarket stick feed, CCM style frame, grips, rails, etc), but I did have it assembled with leftover parts at around $500

                Revolution parts:
                Parts order from EV is around $450-$500 for Revolution parts. This did not include the breech inserts, open class feed, regulator, and bottomline (I had those components/was planning to substitute)

                Phantom parts:
                Parts you will need from a regular phantom include the vertical ASA adapter, grip frame, bottom line, and stick feed (unless you want open class for which the Revolution has its own style). Field strip screws would be nice, but not listed on site anymore (I harvested from another phantom)

                Unavailable parts:
                You will have to source the following to your preference
                Field strip screws (unless you want to use normal hardware)
                Regulator (they don’t sell the reg internals)
                Shortened pump handle and rod to connect rod to finger pump (you can use a long phantom one, but the hole is centered and will need to be redrilled and the size may affect the pump stroke, cocker cocking rods are not a bad place to start)
                The tool (not available)

                The Tool:
                Not available, but it is not a crazy proprietary thing. A long bolt probably would work for extraction of the piston and side plug and a drift punch would work for the fine adjustment.

                Regulator:
                From what I found online, reg has to go to at least 700 psi, stock reg is adjusted in increments of 50 using the stack shims so something aftermarket can be nice for quicker adjustments and possible faster recharge at the cost of size and cost. The AKA sidewinder lists as 0-800 so I think it should work, also comes in different lengths so you can adjust to your preference.

                Colors:
                Note they have a mismatch for anodized parts. I think at this time you could build most of a black and silver splash (like mine pictured) or a blue and yellow splash, black or raw. No frames that were color matched was available. By comparison stock Revolution is color matched everywhere including the trigger itself.

                Lasers:
                No logos on these build-it-yourself ones​

                The problem:
                Parts are old. These arent newly made, just left over. The parts include o-rings but some needed to be replaced (order spare o-ring kit). Some tarnish on machined bits, but functionally it assembled nicely.

                My build experience:
                I saved a bit as I had a spare frame, stick feed, some of the hardware, fittings, the breach inserts and barrel. After ordering a spare piston and some parts, I realized I was not too far off from a whole Revolution. However, if you have to add those to the total it is going to be pricey.

                Last note, currently mine is untested (I'm missing my last fitting and gauge as well as some parts being made) and remember no support or warranty if things don’t go right. It took a few days to assemble after work using the manual and parts diagram. Some things are not pictured very well or at all which I had to reference my complete revolution for. If anyone is a glutton for punishment and willing to go down this rabbit hole, happy to help.

                        The last few that I saw went around the $600 mark and sold within a day. The lowest I've ever seen was a local sale for one around $300 a few years ago.

                          Can I ask what piston you ended up running? I can't get mine to stay aired up with the "universal Co2/hpa" piston that I bought from EV. I swapped a red piston in and that seems to hold air fine.

                        Running into trouble with the piston. Seems like the gold/brass one I picked up is actually not for HPA? It keeps popping then dumping air. I've swapped parts around between the Revolutions and have determined the piston to be the culprit as the same behavior is replicated when I put in the gold/brass into the CCI built revolution, and the parts built Revolution airs up and fires with the red piston from the other marker.

                        Piston colors:
                        Black - CO2 piston that came with the original Revolution
                        Red - HPA piston that came with the original Revolution
                        Blue - From the Bacci paintball video, the universal piston that replaces the Black and Red piston?
                        Gold/brass - listed as universal CO2/HPA piston on phantom online, have seen other mention it as the CO2 piston

                        Anyone have any knowledge and can confirm?

                          When I purchased mine directly from Mike it came with a black one for co2 and the blue one for HPA with a bunch of o-rings on it. Mine was calibrated for Stock class so the black one was pre-installed in the revolution. I've been told the blue one is for HPA and just adjust the volume by removing o-rings.
