    Stock emek/etha/160/170 switch?

So I have a total of like 6 gamma core markers that I swapped to whisper drives and soft face bolts. Looking at the spare parts I got the hot idea of purchasing all the left over parts to make spare cores. Should have researched just a tad bit harder as I’m finding it impossible to find a stock semi auto switch. They use to be sold but all out of stock and no longer listed on the official PE site. Some spots in Europe have them but I don’t really wanna go that route. Thought the one from a Gamma Pro/Cs2 would work but no…..Tested and its different size. Thank gosh I only ordered one of those as I checked after the fact lol. Any advice on switches? Way to mod the aftermarket full auto switches to semi format?

    thanks
    -Mike

found your original thread. I knew that I saw a thread the other day pertaining to the same thing im
asking lol. No luck finding it in any of the different eclipse sites now when part number is searched. So it seems to me eclipse purposely no longer sells one part of each main component (upper/lower) to prevent people from building spares….. no switch, no semi gamma core and no regulator body, no lower setup lol. uGH!!

Maybe? The cs2 uses a version of the gamma core so it would make sense that there's some crossover

Edit: oh! Compare the manuals, see if the o ring sizes on the switch are the same between the emek and cs2

Better yet, I bet someone on here owns both a cs2 and emek, see if they are willing to plug the cs2 switch into the emek

Yup, that what I ended up doing. I have a CS2 and was like woo! Compatibility lol. Switch is physically smaller by maybe 1cm. Full auto when air is applied. Other part which I tried was the Can. Same dimensions except the dia change where it screws on the Bolt guide. It flares out at a different point. With air, noticeable leak out of the bolt but it will cycle. So my conclusion. Bolt/Spring/spring guide and rear cap plunger/cap hardware are the only cross compatibility in the two systems. Didn’t not completely swap core to the emek/etha/160/170 platform though. Might do that today just to see if it would still work as I believe all those parts are still available to make a compete engine. I unfortunately would have no need to do that as I was/am building off spare bolts and valve chambers.

So experimented with spacing out the CS2 switch with random crap I had in my kitchen. A dime is what worked…. Glued or loose allows for the CS2 switch to work. Regardless it will only shoot 270-280 maxed out. This was just random kitchen things but I plan on later today attempting the same thing with in the garage with metal spacer and slot milled into it like a OG part and see what happens.

Asked the question on getting a stock switch on the PETech forums on FB and was asked what my intentions were 🙄 I own 15 PE markers currently. I feel attacked as I don’t believe I need justification asking for a spare part lol. I’m not angry but alittle irritated but all good. I’ll figure it out if they won’t sell me the part. Little rant for today.

        Found your problem.

This has been mostly my experience as well. If they can't understand exactly why you are doing something then you must be a terrorist or something. How dare anyone know something about paintball that they don't! Everyone is a n00b except for them!
