    FSC Ball Chopper Supreme

So I've got me the First Strike FSC. Thing is cool, but I can't put a magazine through it without a ball chop. Literally unusable. Has anyone some tips on how to make it actually work? I was running it at 280, so the next thing to try is lowering the velocity. Field paint is... tiny and football shaped, so I don't have much of a choice there.

How thick is the shell on that paint? My fsc works great, but as with all things mag fed, thin ā€œtournamentā€ shell paint can’t survive the mag stack.

file a ramp on the top of the bolt, diy a fomie bolt tip.
and +1 on "low end" paint. thin shell is not designed for the forces of mag fed.

My son got an FSC awhile ago. super frustrated by it as well - just a blender after the first two balls. Finally spending some time with it to see if there's anything i can do. I Like $L!mBo 's Idea with the bolt. I also see some very hard edges in the breech opening on the barrel. Might smooth that out a little to. also wondering about the detents - the seem like overkill and require a fair amount of pressure to push the ball through. Will report back.

Ok spent some time - (and$$$ - stupid 8 gram Co2's) and found some things out:

#1 - smoothed out all hard edges of the breach opening in the barrel - to my eye this was where the issues lay. I started by not over doing it. and it had a immediate affect. shot 5 balls immediately and exploded the 6th, where I could not get past 2 before. pulled it apart and went to town making a nice smooth ramp and smoothing all hard edges. again - 5balls out with an exploding 6th - - reloaded and went again, and again - 5 balls out exploding 6th. could not see anything different when looking down barrel at 6th ball in breach. it seamed to be in correct firing position, velocity consistently 260, using Graffitti

#2 filed a steeper ramp on bolt per L!mbo the FS bolt is already beveled but I feathered it out even more in one spot and reinstalled with that portion facing down. same as before 6th ball blew up. cleaned out, reinstalled, and this time put 5 balls in clip - and... success - after success after success. - 3 clips no breaks on 5th ball.

conclusion... you can really only get 5 balls in that clip - why - I have no idea. beveling the breach area in the barrel works really well. beveling the bolt - not so much unless you go all the way around it - the bolt does spin over time. not sure that would cause the 6th ball issue the break happened in breach to, everytime - major mess.

Idea #3 ... foamie on the bolt, but that seams like I would need to hog out a recess for it to get enough foam on there to be "soft" and not protrude to far into breach at rest.

hope thats helps some people. these are cool pistols but fairly useless unless IMO everyones playing with one... the 12gram clip seams like a good investment.

If the last ball is the issue. And that issue is alignment, then it may be the magazine spring is not lifting the last ball high enough into the breach. Maybe a slightly longer spring or a shim at the bottom of the mag to keep the spring pressure up on the 6th round. Using the red First Strike spring for round ball may be too much force on the round paint. I have a couple of the FSCs and will check if I have the same problem.

Ok I bought that freak barrel for my FSC but... I tuned the velocity until I reliably got three magazines of six rounds out of an 8 gram... shooting like 235 or something but absolute lasers and zero problems.
