My apologies, I didn't read thoroughly enough. And now re-reading, I realize we are talking about the "m3", not the g3/p3 models.

As the lower piston oring is the same as the "seat seal" oring on the bottom of the reg (#14 on the diagram), did you try swapping them, or measuring that one?

I'll air mine up and see where it is after just cleaning most of the globs. It only had a slight leak at the gauge.

There's a tiny little hole next to the gauge port. If it's leaking from there, well...that's a vent to release air if the small piston o-ring is leaking.

Wow. Those are some yellow o-rings in that picture.

And I don't think we need to measure pixels. Yet. I've measured the o-ring groove on the piston itself, and it's 1mm deep and about 1.5mm wide. The piston stem is about 5.3mm in diameter, and the hole it goes into is somewhere between 5.5 and 6mm. I can't be more specific than that without a pin gauge set, but I don't have one of those. They're expensive.

Besides, there aren't a whole lot of commercially available o-ring options when you get down to sizes that small. I've just about checked them all. Once this last set comes in, I should be able to either suggest a replacement or say decisively that there's no good option for rebuilding these regs anymore.

Fortunately, I've also been emailing with Mark from the Renatus Group, and he's offered to sell discount replacement 3k regulators (M3 and older) to anyone who needs one. They're out of stock at the moment, but he said he would sell me a replacement 3k reg for a trade-in price of only $36 + shipping. It seems the company acknowledges that they dropped the ball on this, so they're trying to do something to make it up to us. So that's nice.

I got lucky. I ordered some 1.2x3mm V75 o-rings in the latest round, and so far they seem to be working perfectly. The regulator works as it should, and it's not leaking. (I left it filled to 2000 psi for about 10 days just to be sure.)

So.... I think this is a suitable replacement for the smaller piston o-ring. It's not urethane, obviously, so I'm not sure how long these o-rings will last, but they're cheap enough that I'll probably just replace that one o-ring every year. Minimum order size is 10 o-rings anyway, which isn't ideal, but it's way better than some other rare o-ring sizes. (These 1.5x2.8mm o-rings also seem to work well, but the minimum order size is 84 units.)
