Purchased a promaster anything I should know?

    • Are there any quirks or flaws I need to be aware of when I am rebuilding it?
    • Does the dye Lazarus valve fit?

I have a team mate that owned one.

    Great shooter, under rated.

His went down mid tournament with wiring issues. Had to reflow some solder to get it on its feet.

The stock regs aren't good and the ram is red loctited together.

I believe the Laz valve does fit. I remember someone talking about installing one with success. I would take the original valve out to check. It should look like a standard autococker valve.

Thanks for the heads up on the lock-tight! It definitely would have given me trouble otherwise.

I saw that aka has lpr's in stock still but other than those what are my options? I paid $70 for the marker so another $70 for the lpr doesn't make much sense imo.

That's about it for aftermarket options. Technically there's some Palmer's floating out there, and I think MacDev did a small run, but those are harder to find.

IMO, the stock LPR isn't terrible, just gotta give it a little extra TLC and keep an eye on the piston oring

Good to know as I'm thinking about picking one of these up eventually, also on the ram just hit it with a torch to get the hammer off they are all like this I do believe

I had one of these a long time ago. Bought some fancy ram for it even. Was a great shooter from what I remember.

Vaporworks has promaster wiring harnesses, chaos boards, and bearing triggers in stock. IMO the best thing to do to those is to add a front "o" ring to the bolt and then cut a ramp for small paint on the top. It works wonders when dealing with 0.675 field paint.

Thank you, good to know that replacement wire harnesses are available. I'll keep the bolt ramp in mind I can always use a belt sander to add one if I run into issues due to paint size.

Belt sander might be a bit aggressive. I usually have a friend do it so it's dead center, but in a pinch I've used a 3/4" dowel wrapped in sand paper. Be sure it has a front "o" ring though, or you might get blowback up the feed neck.

Laz valve doesn't fit. The promaster valve has a slightly larger diameter

I'm sure it would have made it a totally different beast if it would have fit

I bought those promasters thinking the same thing. Would be interesting to have a valve body made to fit. I would be curious to see how low the pressure could go.
